• A bunch of Jackasses Destroyed our Lawnmower

Storytime The worst lawnmower repair shop. We have this really nice riding lawnmower made by Muarry, with a nice little 13hp briggs in it. Was like a good 600 bucks or so and ran like a dream. Story starts off where a piece of the airbox came off the riding lawnmower while it was running, sucked into the blades, thereby destroying it. We tried using duct tape for a week, which did absolutely noting, so all this shit was getting sucked through the intake. My dad takes it to a shop that starts with a B (don't want to give my location) which has serviced our shit once or twice. They give us the estimate of 60 dollars. The part was ordered, they said it would take a week to get there, turns out it took a whole month. They gave us no updates or any kind of shit about it, my dad repeatedly called down there, of which they didn't have much information. They also decide to do a small tuneup, in which they said our blades are bad, they somehow couldn't be sharpened. My father figured this was absolutely bullshit so he asked for the old ones back. So last weekend, we finally get it back, it ran (so far) in which they gave us the bill of 160 bucks. My father was quite disgusted with them by this time, two weeks overdue and 100 dollars extra. He checked out the supposedly bad blades which were in fact good except for a little surface rust, when he gave the mower to the shop, there was no rust on the blades at all. Judging by the mower itself, they left it outside for the whole month they had it. It gets worse... So tonight, I come home from seeing my friends. Talked to my father in which he said the mower's engine seized. The shop didn't put a drop of oil inside the engine after they serviced it, even though they said 1.5qts were added. It ran for about 35 minutes or so before it just died. I'm really fucking furious, I don't stand bullshit like this happening because of incompetence. So tomorrow is going to be rather interesting.
Are we talking about dragons or lawnmower's?
we can talk about both~
what a bunch of jackasses
I hope your dad rips them a new asshole, and reports them to the Better Business Bureau (if you're in the US, if not I'm sure you have some ministry you can report bad business to).
you should seize this chance and convert it into a racing mower and compete in your local lawn mower racing club
too many dragons here
Why didn't you check your oil before you started it? you're supposed to check it every time before you run it.
Ask my dad that, I wasn't the one to do it. I guess he just assumed that they did their job correctly. We got it resolved today though, they are going to replace the engine free of charge and reimburse us.

Sad part is this happens to real cars, Big job and a mechanic or entire shop can forget to fill it with oil. Good thing my mechanic will do drive tests prior to job and after job, Hell instead of just disconnecting the battery they acutally drove my car around till a code turned off.
Had a repair shop do this to one of our cars about 20 years ago. We now drive 25 miles to go to the only good, and reasonable, repair shop in my area.
