Okay, so I've never really spent much time in this section, but here goes. Recently i have discovered that i love photography, and as a result thereof, I'm spending this week as an intern at a photographer. He's a great guy. and he's teaching me a lot of things, but i figured i want all the advice i can get my hands on. That is why i ask you; What's worth knowing? Tips, tricks, pointers, advice, instructions, explanations, you name it, I'll note it! Thank you in advance for any useful info. :v: [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] If this is a shitty thread, lock it up and tell me where to go and bitch for help.
never be content with what you do, always strive for something more. [editline]28th September 2011[/editline]
You'll know everything you need about photography when you figure out f-stop
clearly an art form is fully understood when one technical aspect is mastered
What kind of level are you at, op, in terms of photographic knowledge?
Basic stuff like shutterspeed, lighting and tweaking in photoshop.
Start learning aperture.
as far as creative control goes, aperture is much more important than shutter speed. I rarely ever take my camera off of aperture priority.
It's simply impossible for people to try and dump all of their knowledge as you ask "hey teach me everything". You need to do that on your own by start playing around at your own time, and then come back with questions regarding on specific topics.
All things mentioned are learning cameras, if you want good pictures, learn composition.
never be content with what you do, always strive for something more.
I hate every photo I've ever taken and I don't know why.
you probably are being too hard on yourself. I'm sure you have taken some really nice pictures, but you are setting standards for yourself that you can't achieve. Just take it slowly, and a great way to improve is to try and deliberately model a type of style you admire.
