I have a drug test for a potential job, it's a government job that requires a clearance, which the employer is sponsoring me for. I'm legally allowed to drink, but do they test for alcohol on drug tests?
Yes, you'll be fine.
It's for DRUGS, not alcohol consumption.
Still, I wouldn't reccomend it. Being drunk is not a good look.
^ Alcohol is a drug.
Why would this be a problem, alcohol only stays in your system for a short period anyway. As long as you're not under the influence while you're working, obviously.
I think they just check for illegal drugs.
Yeah, I mean it's not illegal to drink in the USA over 21 right? I'm not at work after all...

Yeah. As long as you don't take the test immediately after drinking or while drunk (duh) it won't show.
It depends on the job really, if you operate heavy machinery they might care about alcohol.
Sounds like you'd be okay in my opinion... I mean the body takes time to process booze but I'm sure they can see a blood alcohol level from a test... I mean if it's a pee test which I'm sure it is... not much can be seen... Just drink lots of water, now. They can't turn you down for having a social life.
Right guys? Or am I wrong?
