I used MalwareBytes Anti-Malware to scan the PC and it detected 18 trojans, It removed all those and most of the problems are gone. However one thing is remaining. Everytime i open ANY importent program (Taskmanager, Chrome, IE9, FireFox, AVG) this "Microsoft Security Essentials" pops up and says that Task manager is a virus. Run an online scan using ESET's NOD32 scanner. It is the best scanner out there. Period. Anyways they have a free version that is basically the malware scanner without all the frills of the full application (Resident Shield, etc). You can find it here: http://www.eset.com/online-scanner
Uhhh why is there a Windows folder on D:\?
Probably because he's multi-booting two OS's on seperate drives/partitions, but both partitions are either NTFS/FAT32 so windows recognises them both, and by chance the other drive got the C: logical reference.
That's what I figured, but why would MSE complain about Task Manager on another install (or at all for that matter)? The program seems to be in the right location.
D:\ is likely the drive the OS we see in the screenshot is on. If he didn't install Security Essentials, its likely malware/adware masquerading as it.
