For those of you who didn't know Shot Show 2010 is going on right now, here's some stuff you should check out. http://www.airsoftretreat.com/forums/index.php?topic=90535 The thread shows the finished Magpul PTS ACR, new KWA M4's and pistols and a shitload of other airsoft products coming out this year. Also, SRC has announced they are making GBBR's of the G36, AK, and MP5 series in their new catalog. Can't wait to see a GBB G36, that's one of my dream guns right there. http://www.everything-airsoft.com/blog/2010/01/20/src-releases-40-page-2010-catalogue-pdf/ Classic Army also has a GBB M4 in the works too, along with VFC and Real Sword. Seems like everyone is hopping on the GBBR band wagon now, maybe it may influence fields into more milsim games. Anyways check these links out. I'll post more links here as I find them.
Semi-auto CO2 Bolt action.
I'm wondering the same thing.
maybe you can switch :v:
god damnt... if its cheap enough people will just go airsofting with it at fields without chronos... people are going to get hurt...
Why do they make it so high? But I wonder what 700 FPS feels like.
god damnt... if its cheap enough people will just go airsofting with it at fields without chronos... people are going to get hurt...
Then our piss-ass liberal government will ban airsoft. And then work to ban guns like they want to, against the bill of rights.
700fps would most likely put a nice, gaping hole in you.
700fps would most likely put a nice, gaping hole in you.
We arn't shooting people with rpg's or shoving grenades in their pants. 700 FPS is less than a 9mm bullet Even a .22 bullet travels faster.
9mm goes 1100.
500 FPS is more than enough to go through thin skin. A friend of mine got a hole cut through the area between your nose and your lips with a KJW M700 - I don't think companies making airsoft guns should be making anything higher than 550, and that's even if the guy on the receiving end was wearing a full face mask.
I don't know why anyone would buy such high FPS guns. First of all, its really hard on the gun. Notice how Tokyo Marui's last so long? The stock FPS on their guns is around 280. Second of all, it really fucking sucks to be on the receiving end of something that powerful. I'm glad that the FPS limit in Canada is 500FPS. Most fields have the limit set at 350 for indoors and 400 for outdoors (for AEG's) anyway.
NY Limit is kinda different depending if your Lower State or Upper State ATM the limit went up a month ago. 400FPS with .25's 500FPS with .28's (Bolt Actions and Semi Only) with 100ft distance What i do know if someone posts a review and theres specific features of this rifle like a logo on it, Every time i see a Gas M700 i'm going to look for that marking.
I think max for an AEG should be 350 indoors, 400 outdoors. Ranged weapons can go higher, but there should be a rule on how close you can be to actually fire.
While here, the Philippines have decided that 450 FPS in CQB is safe. That's my field's limit at least, and it's run by the police. Sadly though, gun ban means no Airsoft until July.
To put the velocity into perspective: A typical .45 ACP's muzzle velocity is around 850 FPS, I think if someone were to be using .25g BBs in that sucker it would feel like low velocity pellet gun.

Magpul PTS FPG video, now I really want one for my G18C. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZi2oIz89yY
From the looks of it G&G are making a similar 96 like TM L96 AWS
I'm sure G&G had theirs out for a while. It's a gas model, not spring. Take a look at the bottom stock, you can see there is a magazine with a valve on top of it, saying it's a gas magazine. From the looks of it, it's similar or a copy of the Tanaka M700 series gas system. Sure hope it's cheaper, those $80 Tanaka mags really burn a hole in your wallet. Also, I think it's a M700 AICS like the Tanaka. Look at the bolt lever, it's the same as a M700 and doesn't have the huge ball on the end of it like the L96 does. The rear of the bolt is round too unlike the square looking end of the L96 bolt.
