I received MMM17 this morning (someone bought it for me, just a random present), I started it up thinking of the good ol' times I passed on the 2002 version of this. Now yeah, I'm older, I can use more difficult programs. But I still like it.
There are some problems: It lacks a lot of samples, the samples are not well editable, the midi editor is kinda fucked up sometimes, and then... It calls itself the "easy way to make music"
Does that mean that this program is totally useless for anyone who would really like to make real music ? I tried to use FL Studio too, but thats friggin hard...
So what do you think ? Is MMM a real kid program, that your 7 years old brother could use without problems ? Or am I totally blind, and not seeing the real power of this ?
Please help me, thanks.
Get a proper DAW like cubase, ableton live or fl studio

So your opinion is that MMM is not a decent program right ? That's what I thought. :(

Or Logic.
Or Pro Tools.
One can dream.
I'd say try out Reaper. It is probably more in your price range and you can use it totally free for like a month or something. I don't know why people suggest such expensive DAWs for people who are starting out.

Because almost no one actually buys the software?
:pirate:
Well, Magix Music Maker is pretty fun to play around with if you have just gotten into producing music, but I recommend you get something better, since Magix really isn't anything more than a "toy". I suggest you start out by getting FL Studio, since it's very easy to learn and is really fun to play around with. I know it looks very confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's not that hard to use.
It would also be nice to know what kind of music you are making.
I am currently not making any type of music, but what I'd like to "get to" would be more ambient music, or drum n bass.

But a lot of those people are idiots who don't even use all the features of the DAW or really have any need of them. Something simpler like MixCraft or Reaper is a much better bet for someone just getting started.
