An Illinois woman tried to used the popular crowdfunding website GoFundMe to raise money for a late term abortion so she can continue to party. The funding page, “Bailey’s Abortion Fund” has been taken down, but Life Site News reported Friday that 106 people had already donated $1,654 towards the woman’s goal of $2,500. “Bailey is currently unemployed, completely broke, in debt, and in no position to hold down a job due to severe symptoms of a rough, unplanned and unexpected pregnancy,” the page reads. “Aside from having no desire to raise a child, she is economically unstable and can barely afford to support herself, which means having enough money to pay rent, smoke cigarettes, drink rockstar, support her friends in prison, and if she’s really busted her [expletive], maybe go to a show or two.”
Source

While she's at it she should have a stretch goal - vasectomy.

Classy woman.
Bailey’s current boyfriend, Lücifer Ryzing
Holy shit
While she's at it she should have a stretch goal - vasectomy.
I think you were looking for tubectomy, unless you mean that her current boyfriend should get it. It won't help because the current one hasn't fathered her child.
Something tells me that won't help
... female vasectomy?
The page was written by Bailey’s current boyfriend, Lücifer Ryzin
I assume he's in a death metal band...?
I'd actually donate towards a vasectomy for that woman.
Something tells me that won't help
*throws a hotdog*
Something tells me she will be able to make the funding. The text certainly sells her as an unfit mother. If she doesn't want to be a mom I don't think she should be forced to (and please don't argue in hindsight, she can't go back in time and not become pregnant now), sounds like a miserable life for the child and the parent. Adoption is certainly an alternative, but I've heard terrible things about the foster care system. Not something I'd fund personally, but I see where she's coming from and hope that everything works out. Honestly the state should be paying for this, but I digress.
I assume he's in a death metal band...?
Nah, he would have changed it to something Swedish so people would take him seriously
Honestly the state should be paying for this, but I digress.
Her mistake, her problem. Let her deal with the consequences of her lifestyle and poor choices.
Her mistake, her problem. Let her deal with the consequences of her lifestyle and poor choices.
How is that fair on the kid
The campaign seems to have been taken down or the link just isn't working right for me.
The campaign seems to have been taken down or the link just isn't working right for me.
The funding page was taken down.
Her mistake, her problem. Let her deal with the consequences of her lifestyle and poor choices.
does the child deserve to deal with the poor life choices of the mother?
How is that fair on the kid
If she can get the abortion through other means, let her, just don't expect the state to compensate for her lack of foresight. If she has the kid, they should take it and put it into foster care. That would likely be better than having her as a mom, and that should be saying something. Plus, you can't really expect the system to be fair to everybody. Someone has to get fucked over at some point, and you can't really pick and choose who that is unless you're willing to spend the resources to make the exception.
I'm quite conflicted on this issue. On the one hand, it's not our problem and her on damn fault she's pregnant. On the other, I could stop this degenerate from ever raising a child.
does the child deserve to deal with the poor life choices of the mother?
There is always this
There is always this
back-alley and "coathanger" abortions have a pretty high mortality rate and at the very least she'll probably come out mutilated this isn't funny
Just give the baby up for adoption. It would probably have better chances.
The state would pay for foster care or in support services, why would funding an abortion be different
Because it's not their problem yet until the baby is born. Then they have another citizen to take care of. Before that, it's her problem and it's not like the government can use eugenics to prevent any low-life with little to no capability to be a parent from becoming one. Let her take care of her problem, and if she proves she's too big of a fuck-up to become responsible, then let the state step in and take over. Yeah, maybe the money they use to raise the kid could've stopped him/her from even existing, but it wasn't their responsibility that it happened in the first place. It's more damage control than anything else.
I think you were looking for tubectomy, unless you mean that her current boyfriend should get it. It won't help because the current one hasn't fathered her child.
Yeah, I meant tubectomy. I thought the therm "vasectomy" stands for both.
Her mistake, her problem. Let her deal with the consequences of her lifestyle and poor choices.
The consequences are 18 years of public funding. Probably more because once you are on the gravy train, there isn't much incentive to get off.
back-alley and "coathanger" abortions have a pretty high mortality rate and at the very least she'll probably come out mutilated this isn't funny
It is and you literally explained why it is dark comedy is exactly that
It is and you literally explained why it is dark comedy is exactly that
you're implying the original comment was funny to begin with
It is and you literally explained why it is dark comedy is exactly that
dark humor is for coen brothers movies about the human condition, not trogs on the internet guffawing about back-alley abortions
