Before we start, I know this may not be a much viewed thread because I am new. Ignore that and be good sports. This is a thread for and 70s and 80s music you like. Anything. Just keep it in those 2 decades for Christ's sake. I will start with the BEST 70's and 80's band, Duran Duran. Over the past month I have seen them twice, bought their new album and had T-shirts made. They are the best band I have heard. They are what caused many of the shite we hear today. RIO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3W6yf6c-FA&feature=relmfu One of their more famous songs. Another favourite is David Bowie. He wrote a few songs which inspired Duran Duran. He was mainly 60's but wrote some more stuff in the 70's. One of his famous songs was Ziggy Stardust which referred to his Ego by the same name. ZIGGY STARDUST (Live): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8sdsW93ThQ&ob=av3n So there are 2. Please reply and post YOUR favourites. No arsing.
Truly poor thread although Duran Duran and David Bowie are both awesome. What's your favourite albums?

rio is a good song (i guess) just the statement "they are the greatest band of the 80s" is hilarious come on that's pretty funny [editline]25th December 2011[/editline] when he says "shite we hear today" he really does mean shite
I haven't actually listened to a Duran album. Might do that.
I'd pass. just listen to the singles. they're a singles pop band.

So tired... Will listen in the morning to all these songs. Also check out "Before The Rain" by Duran Duran. Truly awesome song.
my favorite Duran Duran: and some Def Leppard:
I think a lone 80s thread would do. They're both very different decades.
I think a lone 80s thread would do. They're both very different decades.
agreed. Even 80's is a pretty big genre.
agreed. Even 80's is a pretty big genre.
I'm talking about trends in music and stuff that went on. 80s was a lot more than generic pop music.
Actually hang on a sec, something in the OP just caught my eye:
nother favourite is David Bowie. He wrote a few songs which inspired Duran Duran.
