My computer randomly freezes, the HDD light stops blinking and is constantly on, all application stop responding, not even ctrl-alt-delete works, only the cursor moves. HDD stops emitting any sound. Sometimes it unfreezes after 1-10 minutes, sometimes it does not. Its not windows fault, tried re installing it 2 times. Even happens when none is installed. RAM, fully working, tested withe memtest all night. PSU, tried replacing with another PSU, did not help. HDD, tried one 2 different HDD's, same. VGA, tried swapping with my older one, no difference. Tried cleaning every single peace of dust in there. Tried updating the Bios. PC is stock, no overclocking or anything, Computer is: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c01989051&lang=en&cc=us&contentType=SupportFAQ&prodSeriesId=4079858&prodTypeId=12454 Just with a replacing HDD. Is it the motherboard? Should I simply buy a new one or could id be something else?
Sounds unusual. Have you tried consulting the almighty Google? It seems like something that would be the motherboard, but I couldn't be for sure

Can be either mobo, CPU or the HDD. D:
I would say that it's the motherboard. One tiny problem with that and a lot of things get screwed up. Trying to find problems like this can get frustrating at times. Just keep trying different things and hopefully something will work!
