My computer tends to overhead and I took the front panel of the case off to aid it. Are there any risks involved with this?
Also because my power button is broken, I had to stick a pencil in the slot and move it around to find the button
Not really any risks, it's just that more dust will get into your computer and you have to clean it more often.
Also removing panels does affect the airflow that the case is intended to have. But obviously this doesn't really matter if the case had crappy airflow to begin with.
I leave my side panel off all the time. No harm, except better temperatures and more dust. :/
Pretty even trade actually.
Might be better to invest in a decent fan, but the only side effect is dust.
Sometimes I forget that a computer is still a computer regardless of it's case. Yeah dust is your only concern.
Shouldn't have a problems running it like that. In fact, I've been running my computer for the last year without a case (it's just the bare chassis) and it's been fine, aside from dust, but you just spray it out with canned air once a week and you're good to go.
Remove processor and place in fridge for optimum effectiveness.

This will actually make your computer hotter. There is no airflow.
I don't think the front panel will effect airflow as much, but it will lose a little air.

Well the only problem is I'm swapping hardware in and out almosr daily, and it's a royal pain to remove the panel all the time.
You could do the fan-at-front mod?
