Source - CBC [release]A crowd of 50 to 70 people in the small northern town of La Loche, Sask., left a trail of destruction on Friday, storming a hospital, burning a police truck and attacking RCMP officers and paramedics. Police said at around 3:15 a.m. CT in the town of about 2,300 residents, there were two big parties going on and two people were driving around on all-terrain vehicles. When police tried to stop the ATVs, one of the vehicles went into a ditch and crashed. The driver, a 29-year-old man, passed out and an ambulance was called. Then, crowds of people came out of the parties, apparently blaming the two RCMP officers for the man's injuries. The crowds attacked the Mounties, as well as paramedics, police said. "Emergency personnel had cans, bottles, and other debris thrown at them," the RCMP said in a news release. "Several of the party-goers surrounded the police truck and ambulance and were threatening the members." After the ambulance left the scene, police said they went to the hospital to check on the injured man. However, a crowd of 50 to 70 people also showed up at the hospital and tried to get in. "It is believed the crowd's intent was to forcibly remove the two La Loche members that were inside the hospital," the RCMP said. The police and hospital staff barricaded themselves inside, but people smashed the windows and kept trying to get in, police said. Police said they had to use pepper spray to keep people out. All of the remaining Mounties in the town were called in for backup. An RCMP truck was set on fire and the ambulance was severely damaged, police said. The ATV driver was treated for minor injuries from his crash. None of the police or paramedics were seriously injured.[/release] What on earth
Wow, what the hell.
Oh god, haha, what the fuck. :v: Why were they stopping the vehicles, though? To test for alcohol?
just to put it into perspective, this mob was 3% of the entire town
Why would they attack a hospital? Only brainless zombies would do that
Why would they attack a hospital? Only brainless zombies would do that
Oh shit it has begun and in La Loche of all places [editline]1st October 2011[/editline] this is what we all do in the north when we get bored btw
Oh shit it has begun and in La Loche of all places [editline]1st October 2011[/editline] this is what we all do in the north when we get bored btw
What else is there to do in Saskatchewan? I'm surprised this didn't happen sooner.
Yeah, I read this yesterday. I laughed my ass off at how retarded those drunk people are.
They found out that they were in fact, Canadian. [editline]1st October 2011[/editline] Either that or this happened to them all
Nor way!
"Hey, this dude is injured and we blame the police! Let's just attack the paramedics who want to take him to the hospital as well!"
Something is telling me that we aren't seeing the full story.
Time to buy a lot of water, and food. The zombie invasion has begun... in Canada. Nah, but seriously, that's really weird.
Something is telling me that we aren't seeing the full story.
Well here's another article with an interesting tidbit: [release]In 2009, RCMP estimated there were about 100 gang members in the community of 2,300.[/release] It's likely been a powder keg waiting to go off for decades.
Today, I learned what Saskatchewan is.
100 is a pretty huge number of gang members for a 2,300 community.
Immediately thought "zombies" when I read the title
Congratulations your geography skills are now on par with that of an eighth grader
Not in America it isn't. That's like college level.
Wow, what the fuck? And this happened in like, moosefuck nowhere too.
"Let us in! We're all doctors! We know what we're doing!" Either that or they're all insane with anger. Also: Canada? Irrationally angry mob of people trying to flood into buildings? Anyone else reminded of that 'Pontypool' movie?
lucky the cops didn't lose nerve and start shooting
Thankfully, even if some of the mob members make a break for it, all the police need to do is get on a roof, runners wouldn't be able to hide until they reached the Rockies. :v: [sp]Canadian Humour[/sp]
This is what happens when the Saskatchewan Roughriders have a shitty season.
What the fuck? Call in the Mounties or something.
They did They called all of them They had to barricade themselves in the hospital
What did they lose a hockey game or something?
I'd hate to see what happened if they had a good season and lost the final match of the year...
That happened the last two seasons in a row, and to the same team both times. I'm not sure what happened though because I don't live in Saskatchewan.
You would think the back up would have carried tear gas or other crowd suppression gas.
