• My Friend's uncle and cousin just died. Need purchasing advice

His uncle and cousin who he was very close to just died, he is still playing video games but he tends to get competitive with his usual games so I was thinking of buying him an atmospheric game. I have like 7 bucks, is there anything calming with atmosphere for cheap on steam? Sorry for the ramble.
you might try the witness, that's a really immersive puzzle game
The Stanley Parable is pretty chill, and it's also pretty hilarious. It's only 15 bucks, but I'm sure it's cheaper on G2A or something. [editline]10th November 2016[/editline] Starts at less than $3, unless you mean you only have $7 in Steam credit. If you could spare just $3 more with the Steam credit, there's always Thomas Was Alone.
you might try the witness, that's a really immersive puzzle game
honestly, i can't recommend the witness. there's no underlying story to it, the atmosphere only serves eyecandy purpose, it's just puzzles for the sake of puzzles. i found it incredibly dull in the end. the talos principle would be much better in that regard, i feel.
there's no underlying story to it
There technically is, it's just hidden really deep under the rest of the game ([sp]literally under[/sp]) - there's just no "plot" to it. But I agree that The Talos Principle would be a better choice.

Its a lot like a philosophy 101 and is trying to make you think

Surprised nobody has mentioned a story about my uncle. It's less than $15, atmospheric, can be speenran, and it's about uncles.

If you want an atmospheric game, try Deadcore. It's a puzzle speedrunner and is nice fun. If you want calm atmospheric, you want a walking simulator. Try Obduction, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and that game a Facepuncher made, INFRA.
I think that one might come across as a bit insensitive.
I mean it could be interpreted that way, but the entire game is about hearing how great your uncle is and going through all the work he made. So it could just as easily be interpreted as respectful.

Also That guy got me interested in the Talos Principle.
