hey facepunch,
i have a prebuilt from dell with a core i7 processor. The processor, the hard drive, the disk drive and maybe the DX58M01 mobo with a 1366 cpu socket are all i plan on keeping from it. I have £800 to spend and am looking for an ATI card. I don't know whether it is worth getting a new mobo but i definately need a new: GPU, PSU, case, RAM and probably a second hard drive.
I have been thinking something like this for the case http://www.ebuyer.com/product/240814
welcoming any advice.
have you got any info on the mobo, I can't find anything about it at all

the one thing I can find says it has proprietary shit http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/p/19336140/19710910.aspx
not really sorry, I bought this last summer when i was even more clueless than i am now
also what's the build for, gaming, rendering or what
sorry again, the build is for gaming.

went a bit over but I wanted to leave SLi as an upgrade option and I wasn't comfortable leaving that with a 750W PSU, it would probably be fine but a bit close
if you wanted to bring it down you could cut down the case a bit to a HAF 932 or even an antec 902
sweet man, cheers for the help
Could you check on your mobo how many PCI-E slots you've got and such?
just 1 PCI-E but i don't really plan to crossfire, also got 6 RAM slots
