• Suggestions On What I Should Do With My Life

I've pretty much lost all hope of being succesful. All my life i've wanted to join the Royal Marines, i purposfully flunked school, because i knew what i wanted to do and i'd do anything to achieve it. Since i left school i join an Armed Forces Perperation College, i was tought a lot of things to do with the military, but the best thing about it was the experiences i had with it. I worked with the Royal Marines on 6 occasions, the first occasion was when a group of 5 Marines came to our college and taught us about life in the Marines, we also did a fitness test. The second time our whole troop(people from our college) went to another college with the Marines and demonstrated some teamwork building excercising, and pretty much advertised the Marines and the Navy to the college. For the third time, i had gotten into the local papers for my achievements on working with the Marines and basically doing well in college, the local recruitment officer saw this and invited me to go to Lympstone(The Commando Training Centre) for a week to work with the marines. We did a multitude of things there, including the Assualt Course, the Infamous Endurance Course, we did some martial arts, gym tests, field excercises. All of this was my idea of heaven, you worked so fucking hard, to your absolute limits and it's just so rewarding, also the food at Lympstone was HEAVENLY, the Marines in training have to consume over 4000 calories a day, so you'd have a huge english breakfast including about 8 rashers of bacon, 2 - 4 eggs, a good 2 rounds of french fried toast, fried tomatoes and beans. You'd also have a bowl of cereal with that. Plus a banana. It was absolutely amazing, from then on in i'd do anything to become a Marine. The fourth time i worked with them the whole troop went to a water park, and we learnt a lot about Artic Warfare and the boats that they would use to assualt beaches, the equipment they'd use on mountains and pretty much everything to do with the "Marines capable of deploying everywhere but 7 places on earth" part of things. We did absailing, front assault absailing, we'd ride the fast as fuck boats and see how long each of us could stand up, and how long our heads could stay in the water(the boats going around 40mph). We also did somemore martial arts. The 5th time they came it was another fitness test, but this time we also did some shooting at a local range(Loved that). This is where my problems start, i left college because i reached maximum rank and time (1 year and ranked sergeant) And i applied to join the Marines. I was about to go for my eye tests and general medical when i had become 18, the day after my 18th i had swine flu. Then a week after that it developed into a seriously bad chest infection, i could hadly walk without being insanely out of breath and i'm a pretty fit guy. We went to the doctors about this and he took blood tests, put me on breathing devices and came to the conclusion that.. I'm athsmatic. There, in two words, ALL of my dreams were crushed in an instant. (for any of you who don't know, anyone who is athsmatic can't join the royal marines, unless they have been without medication for 4 years) I was absolutely gutted, i cried my eyes out, i felt so fucking empty for days. It's a horrible feeling. TL;DR(ish) - I wanted to be a royal marine all my life, tried and failed because halfway through the recruitment process i found out i'm athsmatic. So basically now i'm stuck on the dole, with no prospects, no job, no education and i'm thinking to my self 'what the fuck are you going to do' Help me out Facepunch, i'm in a bad place :( And thanks for reading! (for those who did.) To all people nitpicking at me flunking school: We were all young at some point, we all did stupid things. I was so motivated i thought nothing could stop be getting in, as i've had no other previous athsma cases.

Well, if you can't get into the Marines, try for another armed service? And if it's the asthma that's getting you, start on some meds. Go for education.
Why
Because i knew what i wanted to do. I'm young and 'nothing can stop me'. Obviously now i realise that it can and i made a huge mistake.
Walmart worker or a Double decker bus driver.

Sell Crack. You sound tough enough to defend yourself, just have an athsma puffer ready so you can run from cops
Sad story, go back to school and find another career.
Figure it out for your goddamn self. If you're seriously that useless, do the world a favor and kill yourself.
I'd rather suicide thanks :v:
do it
Apply again after 4 years of not taking medication.
I understand you wanting to join your marines, but why flunk school?
nothing kill yourself
Wow man that really sucks. This might seem like a boring prospect to you, but if you like computers, learn how to script and work for a company. Just not Microsoft or Apple. You seem like a smart person, even though flunking out of school purposely was moronic. You could do anything, if you put your mind to it. Sorry to sound like an old person there.
Suicide is probably the best option for you. Don't be a burden on society.
nothing kill yourself
woo [editline]02:52AM[/editline]
Suicide is probably the best option for you. Don't be a burden on society.
uh huh
Learn to make video games and become garry v2
I understand you wanting to join your marines, but why flunk school?
Because i was young(not staying i'm not now) and i thought nothing could stop me, i wanted to join the Royal Marines, why would i need qualifications? I didn't think of a back-up plan.
Why would you flunk school. Also, don't be a marine, be GI.
I find allot of asthma tests to be a bit odd. If you already have a lung infection how can they really say you have asthma considering how those tests work. I was once diagnosed for asthma. I rebelled against what the doctor for good reason; he did it while I was sick which makes no sense to me. Within three days we did another test and it was of course found that I was not asthmatic.
