• Avast Extreme CPU Useage

So I tuned on my PC and nothing would respond, chrome wasn't working, just totally spazzing out. After opening up task manager - which took about 3 minutes - I was shown this: [t]http://puu.sh/gYMJh/a653902b3e.png[/t] The only reason I've been able to make this thread is that the usage has slowly been dropping off every 5 minutes or so. I've had to kick all my fans to 100% to stop my CPU hitting 60c. Anyone here know what's causing this? The process refused to end even though Avast was telling me that I was now unprotected, it was still running at extremely high usage.
Uninstall avast, or contact avast support.
Contacted support. It's calmed down now so I'm going to keep it. I like to have a few antivirus's running at once. [editline]2nd April 2015[/editline] I'll be keeping my eye on it though.
You really shouldn't do this.
Oh wait, it's just Avast actually. Seems I forgot to install AVG. I usually keep malwarebytes for scans too. What would you suggest for realtime protection? Besides Comodo, that's too advanced for me.
I've had it go to 100% CPU usage as well a few times, a reboot fixes it.
There's your problem, only have one running at once
I already answered this. I actually don't right now.
Then uninstall antiviruses until you have only one running.
I'd suggest to just get Nod32 from Eset, sure it costs like 30$ per year, but compared to it's features that's nothing. It's also pretty fast and you'll propably never have to worry about the AV clogging up your system until the point it becomes unresponsible.
This is actually a common problem with Avast. Happens to me every once in a while, just gotta reboot.
