[release]It seems that Namco Bandai can’t accept the fact that THQ will distribute the X360 version of The Witcher 2 and as a result of that, the company has filed a case against CD Project RED. According to the lawsuit, CD Projekt RED broke their agreement by removing the DRM protection without the publisher’s authority and by choosing THQ for the distribution of The Witcher 2′s X360 version. Moreover, Namco Bandai has also ceased payments to CD Projekt RED for the game’s retail sales. Adam Kicinski, CEO of CD Projekt RED said:
“As with most cases, we first tried to end the dispute peacefully. Attempts failed and because of this, we hoped that our partner would send the case to the court. The agreement that we signed last year, concerned only the distribution of “The Witcher 2″ for the PC. The records were carefully clarified to avoid any ambiguity. Namco Bandai have options when choosing the priority of our distributor’s version of the Xbox 360. It could use, but not taken advantage of certain preferences. In this situation, we chose the offer that THQ made us. Our financial situation is very good at the moment and the lack of a few million does not have any impact on current activities. Withholding of payments means only that after some time, our partner will have to give us the money. I hope that the whole thing will end with a pre-litigation settlement. If it doesn’t, I am sure that we will win the case and then the loser will pay for our lawyers.”
[/release] http://www.dsogaming.com/news/namco-bandai-sues-cd-projekt-red/ I am going to side with CD Project on this one, asshole move by Namco Bandai.
Its going to be one hell of a projekt to win a lawsuit against a large corporation like Namco.
Damn. CD Projekt RED is awesome. I absolutely love The Witcher 2. Hopefully this can be resolved quickly and painlessly.
Plough those whoresons at namco bandai
When's the last time Namco has done anything worthwhile?
When's the last time Namco has done anything worthwhile?
Since they made Pac-Man
Namco is such a stupid and generic name for any company... and a stupid company. Pac-man was great! but then they became utterly useless.
Hmmm if they broke a contract and its seems at least in the case of the 360 bit they didn't then they will have to face the consequences but fuck Namco, CD Projeckt is my favourite developer and withholding the funds from CD is simply not on
Maybe the president can call in a "Police action" on NAMCO BANDAI's headquarters. As a favor to the Polish.
namco bandai also owns the rights to loading screen minigames, those assholes
How come EA hasn't been sued to fuck yet then?
The records were carefully clarified to avoid any ambiguity.
Then Namco can go [del]fuck[/del] plough themselves, [del]retards[/del] limp pricks.
namco bandai also owns the rights to loading screen minigames, those assholes
Those... Those bastards.
namco bandai also owns the rights to loading screen minigames, those assholes
So they're the ones.... I had heard, but I never knew who it was...
I would hate to have my product not make any money on an entire continent because some guys at the top got a hissy fit.
