I'm upgrading what I currently have, after four or so years, my PC just isn't running as smooth as it used to, OS upgrades and reformats just don't have effect. I plan on getting a new Mobo, PSU, CPU, HDD, and RAM, as I'll need DDR3. For my CPU and Motherboard I selected: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.492250 Seems like a good deal, been told great things, read great things. For my HDD I picked: (CHANGED) http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.479277.22-152-245 I need the space, I've got my 500gb full to the brim, and a 250 external HDD with 15gb left. PSU: (CHANGED) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005 Dunno. Good reviews, fair price. RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277
The biggest question here is: What are you going to use the computer for? If it's for gaming, you'll probably need a better graphics card too. And post your current computer specs.

I'm pretty sure you don't need 3/6/9 gb of RAM, that sounds more like triple channel. That motherboard you want is dual channel, and you should be fine with just 4gb (2x2gb sticks). I think, might want to get someone else to confirm that.
if you're upgrading it's somewhat helpful to know what you're upgrading from
I have a Intel Dual Core e6600 I think it is, 2.6gHz. I'm going to be using it for multimedia, and gaming, not extreme, mostly BFBC2. I still need RAM. [editline]05:53PM[/editline] Is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277 Good for RAM?
yeah thats fine
Try to get a quad core. BFBC2 is somewhat CPU intensive.
Yes, an i5-760
I linked an i5-760 in the OP. Which is Quad-Core. [editline]12:06AM[/editline] Anyone think anything about that RAM?
You could get another computer for 800.
You could get another computer for 800.
Unless his graphics card is a huge bottleneck, he's fine just upgrading his CPU, motherboard and RAM with that money.
Unless his graphics card is a huge bottleneck, he's fine just upgrading his CPU, motherboard and RAM with that money.
And my PSU, that fails on boot, so I need to keep turning it on. I feel like I'm jupmstarting a car.
Oh yeah, what is your graphics card?
Gtx 260
Gtx 260
Whatcha thinking about upgrading to?
Whatcha thinking about upgrading to?
Nothing, Happy with it.
Nothing, Happy with it.
GTX 260 is still relatively powerful. Should pair nicely with the i5.
