Shhh … listen. Nintendo’s new home console the Wii U has been out for about two days now, and if everyone gets really quiet you can probably hear someone somewhere fighting over whose turn it is to control the GamePad.
The GamePad, of course, is Nintendo’s new controller, and it’s modeled after a touchscreen tablet. Sometimes, the images on the GamePad are the same as those on the television screen, but more often they’re not. At launch, Nintendo has promised more than 30 games that take advantage of this dual screen technology — some of these are available in stores, and some are for purchase in Nintendo’s online eShop.
So what to play? Now that the launch-day lines are gone, peruse the below while your GamePad battery recharges.
“Scribblenauts Unlimited” (5th Cell/ Warner Bros. Interactive, $59.99)
“Little Inferno” (Tomorrow Corporation, $14,99 in the eShop)
“New Super Mario Bros. U” (Nintendo, $59.99)
“Madden NFL 2013″ (Electronic Arts, $59.99)
“Nintendo Land” (Nintendo, $59.99)
“Batman: Arkham City” (Warner Bros. Interactive, $59.99)
“Chasing Aurora” (Broken Rules, $14.99 in the eShop)

Photos and full descriptions in the article! ... I still haven't got my Wii U yet.. but I can't wait. HATE the region-lock though. ...
ZombiU Is also a good choice if you want Retro survival horror thrown into a FPS that acts like dark souls.

Really?
I loved Dark Souls, gotta tryout ZombiU
I'll probably hold off on buying a Wii U until Super Smash Bros. 4 comes out.

Yeah. there's even a messaging system built into the game that acts just like dark souls.
If you Die, Your equipment gets placed on a zombie that attacks you. You have to kill the zombie to get your equipment back along with the surrounding zombies that you got killed from.
I have also seen zombies of other players

In better and a little shorter explanation; when you die, you turn into a zombie. You then play a new character and have to get your inventory back from your old, now zombie, character.
Damn, I want this but 60 bucks for each game feels ridiculous after being spoiled by steam.
Pikmin 3
i miss the days when games used to be $49.99
IMO, anything past $40, even 30 is a lot to ask for, just for a video game. I remember when barely anyone asked for $40 and $20 was the most common. You can do a lot with $60.
First must have games? those are pretty much the only games thus far, whats the point of this

It's almost like something is making things cost over periods of time.
$60 for a game is a bit ridiculous, imo. I know they gotta make their money and profit, but still.
I'm just gonna wait until the first price drop because I'm poor.

Game prices have fluctuated constantly over the years due to the price of manufacture, and inflation. A SNES game would cost somewhere around £50 when that was the thing, which is far more than a game today is worth even if they were price at £50. The prices have dropped significantly, and only risen a small bit in comparison.
I will pick up a WII U once I see a trailer for pikman 3.

Wow didn't even know the WiiU was out. Shows how much of an impact it's had.

Man
Super Nintendo Games were pricy
70-90 bucks for Chrono Trigger?
Damn ;_;
i remember retail games being 60 for the longest time
Ps2 and Xbox era is 49.99
Ps3 and Xbox 360 is 59.99
Lol at Scribblenauts being double the price on the WiiU.
Are people really still crying about this?
Games have been $60 since the Xbox 360 launched back in 2005, fucking deal with it already, Jesus Christ.
Thing is I remember one of the Wii's selling points was that Nintendo said their games wouldn't be more than 49.99. I distinctly remember paying $50 for Super Smash Bros. Brawl on release, not $60.
As for "dealing with it," have fun encouraging such business practices for the console market while I stick to Steam. Scribblenauts Unlimited was just released on Steam and is half the price of the Wii U version.

most pc games used to be $49.99 until cod made it a cool thing to price them at $59.99

The only cods I bought for 60€ (yes I know, they don't do the equivalent, its 60$ and 60€) were BO and MW3, and by then there were already games for 60€
fun fact: cod is the only game on PC that I see priced at more than 50€. Never bought any other game on PC for more than 50€ unless it was some limited edition thing. Hell, I even bought MW2 for 50. The same I can't say for console games, which are always past 60.
PS1 games were even less, way more tolerable.
I always get bored with the $60 AAA titles first for some reason. The games that I have the most fun with are actually cheap ones like minecraft, kerbal space program, and ftl.

Fuck you I pay $100 for games.
How is Madden on that list?
