That means a long time while we can play for free, if TES Online will be P2P. Wonderful.
I'm still optimistic about this, despite the fact that it's a traditional RPG company's first attempt as an MMO that is being billed as intensely story based with a heavy voice acting focus.
Another MMO that's gonna start alright then the players will leave.
Bethesda does Bioware.ES is just like KoTOR(tOR),too heavy on the story.P2P for about...a 2-3 years maybe less, then F2P. They should waste their money on the next singleplayer ES,There's enough MMO's as it is!
Should've made a coop game instead.
They've said they wanted to be like WoW pretty much and the art style is not elder scrolls at all. This will bomb like fuck.
I don't know why they keep releasing generic MMORPG's, if it didn't have eldar scrolls on the box no one would be interested in it.
They would be better off making an official Skyrim multiplayer mod or DLC instead of wasting years on a mediocre MMO, an already-crowded market. I don't think Zenimax/Bethesda understand that a mediocre game (*cough*vanilla Skyrim*cough*) only performs well in an underdeveloped market (open-world RPGs).
If they actually opened they're eyes for once they would realise people just want Skyrim Online coop or something of a similar nature, not some silly MMO, hmm.........a fairly respectable game company, instead of listening to they're fanbase and making a follow on from the previous games of the with formula but adding coop instead decide to make the game an MMO........stop me if you've heard this before.

Unfortunately it's still buggy as hell for AMD cards. Keeping the game minimized still adds time, after all. I only put maybe 40 hours into vanilla Skyrim, and that's one character with almost everything completed.

I stopped fast travelling unless its basically across the map and I got to about 60 hours and was still swamped with stuff to do. And travelling on foot causes you to come across even more stuff you wouldn't normally.
I think games really need to stop having these extended open (or semi-open) beta periods, I'm finding that quite often the game ends up nearly dead or with a very poor reputation by the time it hits the end of the beta, which can quite negatively affect a multiplayer game, especially an MMO. It's been a big trend since Minecraft did it (mostly) successfully, and too many other games are doing it, seemingly as an excuse to release a buggy game early and gain quick cash.
Old Republic?
My entire post was a thinly-veiled reference to SWTOR :v:
What a coincidence, my entire post was an unhidden reference to SWTOR
We are entangled in a game of shadows indeed.

There's no reason to make it an MMO if you're going to focus on single player any ways. When you make an MMO you should focus on interaction between players.
Also isn't it Zenimax Online developing this? I dont think BGS has anything to do with it.
That's a good thing, BGS making an mmo would be a bug apocalypse. [editline]28th May 2012[/editline] bugpocalypse.
