A man who just recently moved to Dallas from Iraq was shot dead as he was taking photos of the first snowfall he had ever seen, police said.
Authorities are investigating the death of Ahmed Al-Jumaili, 36, who was killed in the parking lot of an apartment complex late Wednesday night.
Al-Jumaili only moved to America three weeks ago, according to a fundraising page set up by friends.
The Dallas Police Department said that the shooting took place at 11:40 p.m., when Al-Jumaili and his wife were taking photos of the snow. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died.
According to ABC affiliate WFAA, witnesses told police that a group of men randomly started firing a gun and some nearby cars were also hit.

Wow that's incredibly sad, three whole weeks
We're fighting an Ideological war weather people want to understand that or not.

Can it really be called a war if only one side is doing anything?
Damn, that is awful. Only here three weeks, and trying to enjoy snow for the first time.
This is why I don't visit US.

Exactly what does this have to do with ideological shit?
It was not motivated by his religion or race, it was some gangsters firing off their weapons being idiots and hitting an innocent bystander. They shot several cars also.
Also, kind of a dick move rating this story 'funny'
well that's a bummer, poor guy

It gets even more sad
The fundraising appeal tells the love story of Al-Jumaili and his wife, Zahara, who got married 16 months ago. At the time, they lived in Iraq -- but Zahara made the “painful” decision to move to America and live with her relatives in “what she believed to be a safer place,” the site said.
Not sure if that's a typo or an incredibly shit joke.
If the shooter is caught, there's a good chance he/she will be receiving the Death Penalty.
I can't see how this would be anything besides Murder of the First Degree.
Wow. I don't get how someone could even rate this funny. This is nothing but incredibly sad.

Thats not how the court system will rule it, it will probably be second degree. Security footage shows that the man was firing his gun 'randomly'. As I said earlier, its probably some gangsters doing some 'initiation' shit. This has happened in my town once. A 16 year old wanted to be in a gang, and to join, he had to kill someone. So he went up to some random lady downtown with a baby in a stroller and shot her right in the head and attempted to shoot the toddler.

They're doing it for reactions, report and move on

What do you think?
What do you think?
I think weather people want to understand it.

Stop caring about ratings.

To be fair if we shouldn't care about ratings then why do we have ratings.

That's called a massacre
Part of me can't help but wonder that him moving here so recently contributed to this. Iraqi, recently moved to the US, moved to Dallas and taking pictures of something that for most of us in the northern hemisphere is perfectly natural. Can't help but wonder someone thought he was preparing something.
Really hope I'm wrong on that though, the case is more than sad enough as it is. :(

It's sad that so many people like him move here just to get away from all that bullshit back home, only to find another kind of bullshit.
This also reminds me of that tragic story of the Sikh that was killed and the moron who killed him bragged about it to his friends like "I killed one of them damned towel-heads!"

He was taking pictures of snow.
Fucking. Snow.
He wasn't taking pictures of some important buildings from the inside, he wasn't trying to take pictures of cameras or anything.
He was just taking pictures of snow.

Even if he was taking pictures of POTM's bare anus it would be dumb to shoot him on the spot.
Like, even from purely pragmatic point of view, if he was genuinely a spy, you want to capture these alive. They can provide a plenty of information.

Nobody thought that, it was some shitty gang members that killed him.

Get rid of ratings to stimulate quotes, participation and shit-talking.

You rate dumb this guy, but you know that this shit happens in US more than anywhere.

what, you think unprovoked murder doesn't happen elsewhere?

Just for reference, Estonia has a higher murder rate per capita than the United States, at 4.7 for the US vs 5 for Estonia according to Wikipedia stats.
Also, each state is drastically different, some states have incredibly low rates like 1.0, and 1.1 per 100k in states like Vermont and New Hampshire. Areas like D.C. have something on the order of 21.8 which is horrifying.
USA is overrated.
