• C++ Runtime Library error on EVERYTHING

I'm stumped and this is the only place I can immediately post to. I don't know what caused this but recently everything I run that requires Visual C++ to function is just simply crashing. Runtime error! Program: #Program path# This application has requested the RUntime to terminate in an usual way. Please contact blah blah. It's the same error for absolutely everything! Eve online, VLC etc. Any ideas on what can be causing this? It's making me SO mad.
Try reinstalling the C++ runtime? http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632
That didn't do a thing, I've tried downloading a few versions. Guh.
Open command prompt and type sfc /scannow and let the scan run
This will happen if you've pissed around with the windows kernel (slipatch or whatever) and try to install an update from ~3 months ago (can't remember which) Try system restore and uninstalling any recent windows updates
I fixed it! I have some AMBX lights and they are having trouble working with windows 8. The Illuminate program that bundles with them (to control the lights when out of game, mood lighting etc) uses C++ and was immediately crashing on start up. This somehow messed it up for EVERYTHING. I disabled it from start up and now everything is fine. Guess I'll have to wait for an update. Thanks for the help though guys.
