I'm a Korean-American. And yes, I take Korean class in school. I may know how to speak my own language but not know how to write it. Oh the irony..., but that's not the point. This textbook was just made not too long ago (back in 2010) and was introduced to be used in class for the first time. On the second semester, I went by through some pages and this is what I find: It's a page from my Korean textbook, but here's a close-up. Look at problem number 4 closely. Now we're getting somewhere huh?:awesomelon: It's a picture with the computer screen showing Starcraft II. And here's the same picture as what the Korean textbook shows: A typical stereotype huh? Looks like the publishers just copied a random screenshot and pasted it in the textbook.
what did you expect from a korean book
news worthy
holy shit this changes everything
Wow that's a really old picture.
Number 2 looks like a promotional image for dark reign 2...
I like the IGN Logo in there.
i gotta say, thats pretty awesome
love how they pulled a okami and left the ign logo again
Haha that's terrible. I mean, it's funny, but awful at the same time.
Reminds me of that counter strike c4 math question in a math textbook a while ago.
Go on?
Dem Koreans be stealing our property.First they claimed Confucius was Korean, now this?!
Love how theres a blatantly pasted picture of spiderman also. It isn't as funny but it's still kinda chuckle-worthy. None of my textbooks have anything neat in them.
Number three is an egg.
wow, 9k minerals. That's almost as bad as me.
A typical stereotype huh?
Are you stupid?
Are you stupid?
What's stupid about that? It is a stereotype
How is it a stereotype? Starcraft's hot shit in Korea so it's not like they've put a picture of a giant dick with a little caption underneath going "All asians have small dicks xD"
Well, do Koreans play any other games?
theres an english book made for koreans thats based on starcraft
-snip-
Fucking stereotypes.
i didnt think sc2 was that big in south korea i thought they were still stuck in their ways with brood wars
North-Korean or South-Korean? It makes all the difference.
I like how the kids in the korean textbook are white and have different colored hair
I wish more textbooks related their material to modern activities. It's hard reading about all this random material when you have little to compare it to. It's unconducive to a proper learning environment,
If they only had a subject called Starcraft in Korean schools. I'd move there.

I'm Canadian, I don't play or watch hockey.
The same way hockey is a stereotype for Canada. I'd say it's comparable to a Canadian textbook picturing a canadian hockey player in one of it's images.
North-Korean or South-Korean? It makes all the difference.
You honestly think most people in North Korea can afford Starcraft, let alone have a picture of a western game printed in it?
I like how the kids in the korean textbook are white and have different colored hair
Albinos.
