(CNN) – New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Monday said Romney "might be able to convince" him to serve as his No. 2 on the Republican presidential ticket.
"He might be able to convince me. He's a convincing guy, but I really love this job. I really want to stay in this job" Christie said during a high school visit in Plainsboro Township, New Jersey.
The popular Republican governor and early Romney backer said he is not interested in serving as vice president, but that he would be open to discussing the position with Romney.
"I really have no interest in being vice president, but if Governor Romney calls and asks me to sit down and talk to him about it, I'd listen because I think you owe the nominee of your party that level of respect and who knows what he's going to say," Christie said. "We'll wait and see."
After deciding against his own presidential bid in the fall, Christie said his temperament might prove difficult for the No. 2 role, something he reiterated on Monday.
"Do I really look like the vice presidential type?" Christie asked the group of students. "I don't think that's me."
Christie, who has gained a national reputation for his blunt talk and bold governing, is expected to campaign with Republican Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, who is facing a recall election next month.
The two are scheduled to attend a luncheon and rally on Tuesday in the Badger State.

Christie is just awful. It sucks to have this fat fuck run my state.

Doesn't change the fact that Christie is popular among the Republican establishment, and would give wind to Romney's campaigning. Christie would increase Romney's chances.
I like Christie. That fat fuck runs my state.

What's he supposed to bring to the table? He's a poor speaker, not very visually appealing, and isn't able to garner the support of a distinct right wing group (unlike santorum who appeals to the religious, or previously palin who opened up the womens' vote). It's my impression the republicans would like to avoid the 'faceless white dude' look.
Will Romney be able to convince him to lose weight too?
Yeah I mean he's doing such a good job in NJ, cutting our education, making us fat, being fat
Hm, on the pro, it gets Christie out of my damn state.
On the con, it gets him into the whole country.
I believe in equality, so the US should get an equal misery of Christie as New Jersey does.
A Biden Christie debate would be amusing.

There is plenty to go around!

hes not fit to run in any sense of the word
I am ambivalent towards Chris Christie. That fat fuck runs someone else's state.
Even if i didn't know what a shitty governor he was i'd still hate his fat, shit-eating grin.

Is he liked there? What is his approval rating? Cause it seems he is really well liked considering he is the current darling of the Republicans.
Didn't he veto the gay marriage bill? Or am I thinking of something else?
No you got it
A greedy corporate whore and a fat right-wing asshole. What a wonderful ticket.

Fat Fuck Christie is gonna be a Vice if Romney wins, if that happens I will be in tears.

And if something happened to Romney then Christie would be President.
What then?

Then, America tastes what I have been having for the past few years.

is that a good taste
is that a good taste
He's from North Jersey.
So not at all.
is that a good taste
That depends if you enjoy the taste of sweaty pubes and carbonated piss
Just get this over with. Romney as pres and Paul as VP. That way Romney pulls in most of the Republican votes for being moderate, appealing to both the majority of Republicans in the absence if Santorum, and with Paul, appealing to the left-leaners and libertarians int he Republican Party.
Wouldn't happen in a hundred years, but it wouldn't be a terrible move.
But Christie....
No thanks.
Chris Christie hahahahahaha
Great name combo

By some, I don't know the numbers anymore because he was elected a while ago. Teachers certainly don't like him (not even my conservative professor) since he campaigned on fighting them and other 'job killing' unions. Republicans like him because he did everything they want to new jersey, but a lot of people don't like him because his way of restoring the NJ economy is on the backs of the common folk. He retained our high property taxes while simultaneously cutting funding for numerous state programs, especially education. It's bordering on class warfare.
It's the same labor-capital divide and austerity measures we see elsewhere, just somewhat more intense.
