• Looking for a new gaming keyboard to replace a Razer Lycosa, or fix the Lycosa

Fix it Route, prefered: Ok, so I have had a Lycosa for about a month and I accidentally spilled soda on it, most likely voiding warranty, I was able to clean everything up and make it usable again but then a week later the right side of the space bar would raise up when struck from the left, rendering the keyboard ineffective in games. After having removed all the keys from the keyboard before I promptly pop out the space bar and find one little clamp that holds the the metal bar on the bottom of the key had snapped off. I believe that somehow replacing that clamp would make the keyboard functional again. I have already contacted Razer and they say they don't sell replacement keys. Buy Route: budget under US$80 needs to be the size of the Lycosa no bigger media keys would be a plus.
G11 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823126009 [editline]07:17PM[/editline] not the same size but worth it
Yeah, the G11 is great, I recommend that 100%
I have the same exact problem with a generic brand 10 bux keyboard. You can use tape to fix it, it's kind of a silly fix but it works.
not sure about the lycosa's size but the G11 is only like 3/4 inches longer than a regular sized cheapy Dell one and you could easily just have the Gkeys side hang off a desk, you don't really rest your hand on them
How big is it? Since I have limited desk space for the keyboard. Nilus I think you might have just saved me money!

"The G11 keyboard measures 21.5 inches by 8.5 inches compared to a standard 17.5 inches by 6.25 inches."

You know how the plastic thing that broke held the metal bar in place? You use tape to replicate that. Take the spacebar out. Put the metal bar into place and put tape over where the plastic thing broke. The tape should hold the metal bar into place and still allow it to rotate like it's supposed to.
lycosa has lit up keys, that might affect something.
I made a simple diagram in paint which might clear it up somehow. you could get an arctosa. its like the lycosa, but without the lights.
By the way, if you're getting a new keyboard anyway, I recommend the logitech classic 200. None of that gimmicky expensive bullcrap, it's a quality keyboard for about $20. Then you can use the rest of the money to buy something nice, like a prostitute.
Nilus thanks, but after installing the software I learned of a short that it must have developed while in storage, which is impossible since I didn't wrap it that tight and duct tape won't fix it, I may do a full post on it though. So thanks i'll keep the Arctosa and the G11 in mind when I feel that my back-up keyboard is in need of full retirement.

He means his keyboard completely stopped working so he's using some cheapie one he had.
I just recently bought the Saitek Eclipse II. I really like it.Same price as the G11. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823175001
Has far less features than the G11 though The only thing is has going for it is multiple backlight colours, it doesn't even have media keys No idea why it's so expensive on newegg, it's normally around half the price which is fine They're nice though, well built
