Friend is with bizspark, gave me win 7 key, uploaded the MSDN win 7 version and I have now downloaded it. However, the file is not an iso, it is just a folder with all the stuff in it..
Anyways, im installing a new hard drive and plan to make that one the master and my old one the slave, so installing win 7 on the master. Well obviously I cannot have a setup file for that, I need it to be an iso on a disc..
So how do I get it onto the disc?
Your friend probably only copied the files.. You won't be able to boot it.
Ask you friend to make an .iso. It's not that hard.
Alright, I'll ask him when he gets back. Thanks.
Maybe he extracted the iso?
Windows 7 can be downloaded in the individual files too, which your friend might have done. You'll probably have to run the setup from windows.

How would I do that with a brand new formatted hard drive :P
If you have Vista put in a blank disc and choose the "Make a Data Disc" option, and follow the instructions.
Since your friend is an idiot, you may be able to get an untouched ISO off a bittorrent site.
