I need suggestions for gaming laptops that are, great performance, not super expensive, good build quality, and preferably 1080p screens. I don't care about size or weight (that's what she said(couldn't resist)). Any help is appreciated, and keep alien ware hate to a minimum unless you think that alien wares are good
There's no such thing as a cheap gaming laptop.
Choose 2.
-Cheap
-Gaming
-Portable

And I can't seem to find a laptop with a 1080p screen, for under 1400$.

What he said
If you have money to blow you might at well get one of these - http://www.sagernotebook.com/product_customed.php?pid=171297

It's relatively cheap as compared to other Gaming Laptops. It's also ultraportable.
but the m11x isnt that high powered, it get OK frame rates but i really want something that could be a desktop replacement but it wouldn't be for me. i like that sager, but the ibuypower has 2x 285ms

This is the laptop that I use when I'm on the road for a trip and want to play a game or something. It runs games like Just Cause 2, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Metro 2033 on usually high~ settings. Might not be able to totally max it out but it looks great and plays really well too. It's also a very good computer for school and work including the gaming factor.
Alienware M17x. I love mine, runs all my games fine.

Put it as high as your budget allows.
Probably the best thing you could get.
Clevo M571TU.
Maybe it's getting a bit dated (it doesn't have one of those new mobile i7's) but I love mine.
The 9800m GTX that was in it broke somehow and since the company I bought mine from went bankrupt warranty was out of the question. The hardest part was to just actually find the replacement GPU, the actual process to replace it was easy because of the MXM standard. Rocking a GTX280m now instead and new M571TU's come with this card already instead of the 9800m GTX.
Clevo is a special case, they don't sell their laptops under their name, instead other companies buy them and brand them themselves. For example Sager does this, some of the iBuypower ones looked like they're actually Clevo's as well and even Alienware did this on some models.
I like how discreet it looks, no fancy LED's or flames and stuff all over it. No other "manufacturer" who's added stuff (obviously Alienware did this to theirs).
This picture is actually a M570RU but it looks the same except the orange frame thing is silver instead. That's what the 0 in the model number indicates so the M570TU is Orange while the M571TU is silver instead. Orange looks horrible in my opinion.

17 inches 1920x1200.
4 Gigabytes of DDR3 RAM.
GTX 280m 1GB
500 GB harddrive
Intel P9500 2.5 Ghz
All of these specs are usually somewhat customizable.
You can get 8 gigabytes of RAM, an SSD or some other slower or faster CPU if you'd like.
Mine with the above specs (except a 9800m GTX instead) cost about 2900 Dollars (in October 2008) but that's with a sick 25% tax because I live in Sweden.

Why should you give a fuck? He's here to have a question answered, not to brag about how much money he has.
