So I've recently gotten a GTX 295 and decided it's time to upgrade the rest of my system. Here are my current specs;
3gb ddr2 ram, intel E6600 2.4ghz dual core with an oldish motherboard, powered by 750w psu.
What I am going for;
intel i5 2300, 4gb ddr3 (1066mhz) and a much newer motherboard. (around £200)
This sound good?
no.
i5-2500k, 4gb ddr3 1066 and a newer motherbord is far more than £200;
i5 itself is £160.
You'll need about £350 minimum.
He did say 2300 which is £20 less and would mean he could get a cheaper motherboard which means the least he could spend is £215. The cheapest 2500K setup (with a P67 motherboard) would be £270 which is a much better option than the previous as it means he can overclock. If you can't stretch your budget then you should wait until the bulldozer CPUs are released as AMD are usual cheaper than intel
2300 is a waste of space and money.
I managed all of this for £206
How the fuck
