none of these look fun, and all of these look pretentious as fuck.
None of these games look particularly interesting.
none of these look fun, and all of these look pretentious as fuck.
I won't disagree with how fun they look, I haven't played any of them but how exactly are they pretentious?
I'm getting sick of all these ~retro~ games.
I'm getting sick of all these ~retro~ games.
I agree but it is an easy art style to make look presentable in a limited amount of time so I can see why they might want to use it.
Humblebundle didn't email me about this, thank god I read this in time.
How are Battle Frogs, Low-light, Tektonic, or Nuclear Pizza War ~retro~-looking at all? Most of these games don't use low res pixel art
I agree but it is an easy art style to make look presentable in a limited amount of time so I can see why they might want to use it.
Pixel art isn't the only art style in the world. Just look at Kentucky Route Zero.
These games look like they were shat out as quickly as possible for the event Edit: Damn you quick replies for catching my shame
Notch and humble in the same sentence? Never saw this coming
He's done a mojang bundle before so joke's on you.
None of these look fun.
Notch and humble in the same sentence? Never saw this coming
There is no sentence in the article that mentions both Notch and the word "humble". In fact, Notch isn't mentioned at all
There is no sentence in the article that mentions both Notch and the word "humble". In fact, Notch isn't mentioned at all
Lighten up it's just a joke.
Pixel art isn't the only art style in the world. Just look at Kentucky Route Zero.
That sort of style looks simple but it really isn't. It takes talent to make that look good.
Pixel art isn't the only art style in the world. Just look at Kentucky Route Zero.
But Kentucky route zero's style takes a hell of a lot longer to make. Pixel art is fast and looks nice, and that's what had to be done in the fucking 78 hour period they got to make games.
That sort of style looks simple but it really isn't. It takes talent to make that look good.
That's exactly what I'm saying. Pixel art takes little talent.
That's exactly what I'm saying. Pixel art takes little talent.
It also takes no time, and because they only had 78 goddamn hours to do the whole thing that's literally all they were able to do. If you read the first sentence of the article, you'd know that. But Christ, if you actually believe pixel art takes no talent, you're silly.
But Christ, if you actually believe pixel art takes no talent, you're silly.
Compared to other games it really doesn't. That's why they choose it to make a game in 72 hours.
Wolfire's game looks neat.
They should have concentrated on making one or two decent, fleshed out games over the weekend rather than as many shitty ones as possible.
none of these look fun, and all of these look pretentious as fuck.
All aboard the hate wagon! Choo choo!!
They should have concentrated on making one or two decent, fleshed out games over the weekend rather than as many shitty ones as possible.
I'm sorry, I didn't know you played them. And it's not like it's one team making a ton of games, it's multiple teams with one game each.
They should have concentrated on making one or two decent, fleshed out games over the weekend rather than as many shitty ones as possible.
They're all different developers living in different country's having different idea's about games and totally different styles.
They should have concentrated on making one or two decent, fleshed out games over the weekend rather than as many shitty ones as possible.
It was multiple teams working on one game each...
That's exactly what I'm saying. Pixel art takes little talent.
Play any good Metal Slug game and say that again. Pixel art can be easy but you have to be good at it first. Saying it takes little talent is a lie.
Bah, should have waited before it finished before buying it. Never mind, for a fiver its no heavy loss.
Bah, should have waited before it finished before buying it. Never mind, for a fiver its no heavy loss.
Don't consider it paying for the games, it's for charity.
Compared to other games it really doesn't. That's why they choose it to make a game in 72 hours.
Just because something can be done fast doesn't mean it requires little talent. So you actively know that's all the time they had and you're still shitting on it?
It's only a matter of time before PC Gamer hails Mojang for making the best games ever and one of them gets GOTY.
