Republicans revolt over Trump's plans to build border wall
Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump's plan to build a wall on the border with Mexico is facing a major problem: A wall of resistance from his own party.
A growing number of congressional Republicans are objecting to the cost and viability of a proposal that was a rallying cry for the billionaire businessman during his insurgent campaign. Interviews with more than a dozen GOP lawmakers across the ideological spectrum suggest Trump could have a difficult time getting funding for his plan approved by Congress.
Many bluntly told CNN they'd likely vote against any Trump plan that is not fully offset with spending cuts, while others questioned whether Trump's vision would adequately resolve the problems at the border.
The Republicans are revolting, you say?
-snip-
I wouldn't be surprised that when put to a vote they lose their spines and vote for it.
Is there a second source to back CNN up on this?
It's okay. The wall plan will fail and he will just rant on shitter that it's the liberals' fault that he couldn't see it through.

Finally something we can agree on.
So how many republicans is it in congress?

What is it in the actual article that you don't trust CNN about?
The Republicans are revolting, you say?
What a bunch of whimps, they should accept it and shut up /s
Seems more like they're sensibly objecting to a project that would cost us tens of billions of dollars. Though I suppose that would make for a less interesting headline.

The fact that they use the term "a growing number", and indicate that interviews with "dozens" of lawmakers would likely not vote in favor of his policies.
They make it sound like they're rioting in the chambers when it's probably more along the lines of "I'm not too sure about what Trump is trying to do, I need more answers".
Like honestly, this is all opinion piece masqueraded as actual news. A real headline would be:
"36 out of 248 Republicans in the house voted no on bill xxxx". Not this sensationalist BS "Republicans are revolting!".
CNN itself. I've been hearing lately how CNN has been reporting Fake News as Real News. I use to trust CNN, but Since the election, they have gotten worse, and have gotten in the news by being accused of being Fake News by our President.
Lately I have been looking to my local news stations for national news since there is far less spin on what I am given.

hoo boy
he's saying it's fake because they are accurately reporting the dumb things he's doing
True but CNN is becoming increasingly biased to the point where it is eventually going to reach vox tier of horrible
We can rest assured that it's unlikely to hit Breitbart levels of bad at least

I mean I think 24-hour news is dumb too but I don't know if CNN would be one of the sources I'd immediately question.
Any article that e.g. cites an anonymous source should be read carefully, but this isn't that kind of story. The title is sensationalist (24 hour news site plays up drama, more at 11) but I'm not about to go accusing CNN of totally fabricating a story any time soon.
they will pass it. they will tuck it into the MAGA infastructure bill and blame democrats, they will bitch and moan but pass it strictly along party lines

Wow, so it really is true; if Daddy Don repeats something enough, it becomes fact.

why have they gotten worse because of being accused of fake news?
the ruler of your country should know better than to shamelessly bully news media that he disagrees with

Yeah, but this is Trump you're talking about. The man whines on Twitter about anything or anyone that is shows him as even a tiny bit negative.

Aw c'mon, guys. I'm no fan of the GOP but we at least shouldn't be jumping down their throats when when they're actually trying to do something right.

I have heard on a number of occasions when politicians go against the party line as "revolting", and not just in the US either.
For as drab and boring as they, I did not expect at any time going into this thread that they were literally rioting, that's just dumb to assume.

Trump also said Obama wasn't born in America and he would throw Clinton in prison.

Daddy Don doesn't like anyone who disagrees with him in any way.
Actually guys there is a twitter account:
T Becket Anderson, Of course he's GOP leaning but will not hesitate to call Trump out on actual lies.
