LONDON: British scientists have discovered a technique which can make a decayed tooth repair itself. The technique, developed at King's College, London, effectively reverses decay by using electrical currents to boost the tooth's natural repair process. This path-breaking treatment could be available in three years, according to the British researchers who created it. The two-step method developed first prepares the damaged part of the enamel outer layer of the tooth and then uses a tiny electric current to 'push' minerals into the tooth to repair the damaged site. The defect is remineralised in a painless process that requires no drills, no injections and no filling materials. Electric currents are already used by dentists to check the pulp or nerve of a tooth; the new device uses a far smaller current than that currently used on patients and which cannot be felt by the patient. I suppose it's fitting it was invented in England.
Fucking great
only £10,000 per tooth
so i don't have to brush anymore? ok [editline]17th June 2014[/editline] that shit sucks
Well when the price on such a procedure has dropped, it'll be even more amazing.
LONDON: British scientists have discovered a technique which can make a decayed tooth repair itself.
this is how I imagine a british zombie film to start
If this becomes a reality then it's a little too late for my removed tooth
this is how I imagine a british zombie film to start
Zombies with perfect teeth.
Considering it literally takes no filling material, or shots, or any resources of any type, I'd be so mad if it cost thousands of dollars. Insurance should cover this fucking shit at the very least.
Hurry the fuck up with that, please. I take care of my teeth and shit still happens. Also, work on regenerating gum tissue. I have a receding gumline even though I try not to be rough.
That would fucking suck if, by error, you got zapped by a higher current on the tooth.
That would fucking suck if, by error, you got zapped by a higher current on the tooth.
breaking news: patient sues hospital for giving them buck teeth through misapplication of path-breaking procedure.
Zombies with perfect teeth.
OH GOD WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SMILE! AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!
This makes my dentist visit a great experience. The drilling on your teeth is the worst part of that and always caused pain, no matter if I took the syringe . Would be pretty nifty to get it soon.
It's probably very slow, I'm imagining lying in a hospital all night with a shit ton of electrical equipment in my mouth
Wow, a whole night for your tooth to repair itself. Really, that's not a major issue.
Waaaiiit, teeth have a natural repair process?
Why didn't they have this when I needed it... I'm down to 7 teeth and I'm going to lose those too. Just my luck, right..
Why didn't they have this when I needed it... I'm down to 7 teeth and I'm going to lose those too. Just my luck, right..
What's happening to your teeth, dude
What's happening to your teeth, dude
Gum disease that makes them decay almost naturally. My dad has it too, he has just about the same amount that I have, maybe less. Its pretty shitty. Can't eat all my favorite foods as easy anymore. And when I mean almost naturally, I mean like I can brush them everyday all day and they would still rot.
Zombies with perfect teeth.
Like in that Dead Island 2 trailer?
Zombies with perfect teeth.
The perfect killing machine.
That would fucking suck if, by error, you got zapped by a higher current on the tooth.
came in with 32 teeth left with 38
If this becomes a reality then it's a little too late for my removed tooth
Not too late, I remember another alternative that basically told your teeth to grow again as new, I remember it worked perfectly on mice and was going to be tested on human trials for about 5 years before it went public.
My teeth will most likely be gone already and replaced with dentures. :| Hopefully theirs research in place to grow a third set of teeth.
It's probably gonna take a while before it's used, figures that they are going to have to make a small device you can wear overnight when you sleep at home instead of having to stay in a hospital bed with a huge machine in front of your face.
I'm twenty three and have never had a cavity, only toothwork I've ever needed were my bottom wisdom teeth out. I don't even brush every day. Extract my tooth genes!
Fuck that, I want something that makes us grow new teeth.
We have Vermin Supreme to thank for this one
