• Do you ignore glare on your monitor?

So I recently moved my room around and my PC monitor is across from my window, I moved the monitor to the corner of my desk and it didn't seem to help, so I was wondering what you guys do about glare. Do you ignore it or close your blinds while playing Dark games (where glare really effects the most, like Saints Row 4 and far cry 3 blood dragon).
Depends how bad it is but yeah I hate glare.
My room is set up in a way that makes the sun shine into my monitor in the summer only. The only times it would be a problem for me are during vacation when I pull an all-nighter. But whenever it does happen, it's too distracting to leave my curtains open.
I love having a monitor with a matte finish.
I'm not stupid enough to buy an LCD with a glossy surface.
The Glare makes me wish I could blow up the sun.
I have a matte monitor, but my computer is right next to the window, So I must at least lower the blinds to use my PC. Its a shame, because I actually enjoy the sunlight, I like its warmth
My screens are matte, and I have my room set up so the sun doesn't shine directly onto either monitor.
I just have my monitors set up so the sun can never hit them.
Once you get a matte monitor you'll never buy a non-matte monitor ever again
Which one is the Matte Monitor? Mine one is the left one, the glare is mainly the left over sunlight thing.
What kind of loser opens their blinds.
I use an anti-reflective monitor. Less annoying for games.
I just try to position my screen away from the sun that there isn't as much glare from the screen.
Well, closing my binds make my room get hot really quick, and kill any flow of air my room barely gets. And while having a hot room is appreciated in winter, is not cool the rest of the year and I don't get much direct sunlight, anyway, so this is not an issue for me
Well I always use matte or semi-matte monitors so I don't really get much glare. But if the light bothers me I'll just close the curtains (I don't have blinds in my room, only shutters :v:)
Matte monitors for the win. Also avoids that awkward moment where you're watching porn and fapping, then have a power-out so your screen cuts out and your monitor turns from hot chicks making out into a dark mirror, and you stare into your own eyes, unable to look away as you realize what sad shell of a man you are. You hold the gaze for a long, dramatic moment, then, slowly, you start moving your hand again. Down.. And up. And down... And up... Masturbating. Rubbing your cock to the visual representation of your own misery and lack of purpose in life. Gazing into your own soulless eyes in the spot where tits had bounced moments before, now showing the hulk of a man which is the result of 21st century excess, the lack of need or want in our society driving young men like yourself into boredom and goallessness, which breeds sexual deviancy that no real relationship can ever fill, slowly but surely breaking yourself. And then, you realize you're also out of kleenex. I'm not sure what that's a metaphor for, but it happens.
Glare makes it nearly impossible to see anything, so yeah, I do take steps to eliminate it.
Not everyone has blinds. I have curtains. I close my curtains really. So in short I do close my curtains if its too bright.
Whenever I close my blinds I feel guilty because I think of that 2 frame comic everyone posts.
My main monitor is a HP W1907v, it has a glossy surface, but since my grandma gave it to me as a present, I can deal with it. Besides I can barely notice any glare as the sun is on the other side of the house through the rest of the day. The last thing I would do is close the curtains and shutter because I can't stand using a computer in dark rooms.
I try to, but I eventually cave and just cover up the window.
The sun never shines to my window and both of my monitors face away from the window so glaring doesn't happen. Also my primary monitor is matte so there's hardly ever any glaring going on.
matte monitors are the best invention ever but im trained in over 45 ways to ignore glare.
I just close the blinds.. I mean, the blinds remain closed and I just not-open them. Like, ever.
i like glossy panels more, so i just adapted my workspace to avoid glare. lamp behind monitor and velux window on slanted roof with a curtain big enough to prevent light hitting my monitor(s) it's not like glare even bothers me that much on the move. my retina macbook pro is fine to use in places where glare is pretty heavy, just put up the brightness and ignore it for the short amount of time you'll have to deal with it
