• Best gamepad for racing games?

I recently bought GRID off steam because of the sale and it's graphics are awesome, but the cars are very hard to control with a keyboard. What gamepad do you guys recommend for racing games? I was thinking of getting a racing wheel, but I don't want to spend that much money.
Xbox 360 controller. Just because it'll work natively with a lot of games and all of the 'games for windows' games like Crysis.
I just want one for racing games, are there any cheaper versions of the 360 controller, like from other brands? Cause a microsoft one would be expensive.
actually they're around the same price as anything that not completely shit and they're worth it for the guaranteed support with Live games and decent quality
What's your budget? The logitech G25 is very nice. It got me into racing games, without it I would never play any games like test drive unlimited, grid, dirt and whatever. There's some cheaper versions too which you might be able to afford, and the G25 should drop in price due to the G27s release.

EDIT: Also, if you ever get GTA:IV, the Xbox 360 controller in question is the only gamepad that works with it to my knowledge.
