• Need help buying a guitar

I REALLY need a new guitar. My old one was my first one and I've played the crap out of it. It lasted for a while (pretty good for a guitar found in a dumpster) but things are starting to screw up majorly with it. It would obviously take alot of work (and money which i don't have) to repair it. So, in reaction to these events I've been lookin around for a new guitar. I found a Dean Explorer body style guitar that plays pretty well but I'm not sure. I need some ideas for guitars that are $250 or less. and i do realize that you get what you pay for so don't hate, or suggest guitars that are WAY out of my willing to pay range.
http://www.ibanez.com/ Ibanez make good guitars, I have one.
Well, what kind of music do you play? Squier makes rather good guitars, atleast their more expensive line of guitars. The Yamaha Pacifica is apparently good too. Then there are alot of Ibanez or Epiphone guitars that are pretty good for the price.
Greg Bennett guitars Cheap and wonderful Ultramatics are good for heavy stuff, Avions are decent LP copies (IMO better than the cheaper epiphones), Torino is an SG copy which I own (and it kicks ass).
The Epiphone SG-310 is a good one, but it's like $350 in Aussie dollars where I live SG-310 A good guitar from what I've heard but you might want to look out as SGs nosedive if you let go of them lol. even with a strap also the neck is bolted on so it's harder to get the first couple of frets That's want to buy for my first electric, but since I've got a really good acoustic I'm just going to save up for a SG-400 I love angus young lol
i play metal and blues stuff. my favorites to play are maiden and clapton. I also saw a nice Dean strat body guitar up there too...opinions?
I would get a gibson they are capable of sounding heavy like maiden but also sound good for blues although they cost more than $250 you could always get an epiphone make sure you try out the guitar you choose though
good luck finding a gibson for under 250 you might be able to buy a pickup from a gibson with that kind of money
Epiphone SG HSS Stratocaster that would be my opinion or go to the pawn shop
sry guys i got a B.C Rich Warlock for 70 bucks at a local pawn shop and its workin great
The Ibanez GRG270B is a great guitar for the Price :D I have a RG350, and I love it dv247.com sells is cheap
Just go to a local music store.
Dean Vendetta. Served me well as an early second guitar. (same model as picture)
