• Trump backs away from demand for border wall money
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump stepped back Monday from demanding a down payment for his border wall in must-past spending legislation, potentially removing a major obstacle to a bipartisan deal just days ahead of a government shutdown deadline. Trump told a gathering of around 20 conservative media reporters Monday evening that he would be willing to return to the wall funding issue in September, according to two people who were in the room. The border wall money is fiercely opposed by Democrats, whose votes are needed to pass the government-wide spending legislation that comes due Friday at midnight. The wall is also unpopular with many Republicans, and GOP negotiators on Capitol Hill were uneasy about the clash over the wall potentially sparking a government shutdown.
Source The deal maker at work. :v:
Good, fuck your damn wall. There's way more important shit you could be focusing on instead.
Now, what's going to happen to the ACA in retaliation? Because I'm sure Trump can't be pleased about this, even if he's pledging to try again in September.
What happened to getting Mexico to pay for it? Lmao
What's he going to gut in an effort to fund his useless wall this time?
What's he going to gut in an effort to fund his useless wall this time?
poor people, sick people, old people, veterans, disabled people, minorities. take your pick
poor people, sick people, old people, veterans, disabled people, minorities. take your pick
All of the above?
poor people, sick people, old people, veterans, disabled people, minorities. take your pick
cant touch the military even though its where all the funds are
So does this decrease the risk of the government shutting down or is that still super close to happening?
But how is Mexico gonna close its borders to Trump?!
What's he going to gut in an effort to fund his useless wall this time?
IIRC he was gonna cut any foreign aid / anything that goes to mexico and redirect it to the wall
Funny, the wall seems to be the one thing a lot of Facebook Republicans care about. I remember reading through comments sections of his promise to gut other funding to pay for the wall, and people were saying, "Finally a president who keeps his promises!" They completely ignored the people mentioning everything else he's gone back on by saying, "But Obama," and "Muh wall." And now would you look at this?
This guy I know tried to claim trump is gonna pay for the wall from his own pocket :what:
What's he going to gut in an effort to fund his useless wall this time?
Hopefully himself, so that his flesh and bones can become part of the mortar. Little would he know that it'd go towards a solitary sculpture of concrete that looks like a snake, except with Trump's face, a monument to his serpentine wickedness.
This guy I know tried to claim trump is gonna pay for the wall from his own pocket :what:
He would bankrupt himself dozens of times over to build the wall out of his own pocket.
So now he's backing out of the wall deal? While this is a huge relief (short term) it's also further driving home the fact that he's not made a single huge legislative victory in his first 100 days. Hopefully the bipartisan realization they come together on was this was an awful person to elect as president of the USA and that Republicans and Democrats need a massive reformation.

Can he shut the fuck up about 'fake media'. Fucking despotic wannabe
Man, he really wants to keep those wall supporters happy.
cant touch the military even though its where all the funds are
Veterans aren't military anymore so all they get is the feel good words from republicans while they do everything possible to cut and deny you your earned veteran's benefits that were laughably meagre already. The US loves its veterans up until they actually have to care for them.
Trump is backing down for now so that the government doesn't shut down, he has said multiple times he isn't giving up on the wall.
Didn't he also say he wouldn't golf as president
Didn't he also say he wouldn't golf as president
He chastized Obama for taking vacations and said he'd almost never leave the White House because he'd work much harder. He emphasized that he'd work every weekend. Then he found out that Obama made it look easy, and he's taken a vacation to Mar-a-Lago (which he OWNS and profits from) every fucking weekend since inauguration unless he's held a feel-good rally to boost his spirits as his approval drops in record time. But, seriously, guys, you can trust Trump to deliver on the things he says. Like repealing Obamacare on day 1 (nobody knew it was this hard!). Or bringing back jobs. Or draining the swamp. Or improving the lives of his voter base.
"The WALL will get built and help stop drugs." Gee, why would anyone have trouble taking him seriously... His tweets might as well be drawn out with fucking crayons.
Somewhat related, but the DHS is creating an office for victims of illegal immigrant crimes. https://www.ice.gov/news/releases/dhs-announces-launch-new-office-victims-illegal-immigrant-crime
Man, he really wants to keep those wall supporters happy.
some will just justify it as this whole "oh that was just a sales pitch thing obviously he didn't mean it"
Somewhat related, but the DHS is creating an office for victims of illegal immigrant crimes. https://www.ice.gov/news/releases/dhs-announces-launch-new-office-victims-illegal-immigrant-crime
First, it was listing crimes by illegals. Now it's a special office for handling crimes by illegals. If you start hearing about trains to send the illegals "back to Mexico", red lines are being crossed.
Also, I just overheard a Trump sound bite on One America News. Basically he was talking about the wall and said something along the lines of "It'll stop human trafficking, which is huge. It might be the worst it's ever been in the history of the world." Someone's forgotten the American slave trade, at the very least.

A border wall isn't going to stop that.
