I got a 7 year old computer off my friend and I want to upgrade it, the only problem is that i dont know of any good stores in my region. What can you recommend. btw, I've never worked with computer hardware before but I'm learning.
Don't bother with buying new parts for such an old computer.

Not sure where you are living, seems likely you are living in Ireland, and if you are - use www.dabs.ie - just ordered a psu off them a few days ago and it was flawless, it was the lowest price in Europe for it, and was delivered in 2 days flat, plus they took PayPal. If you live in England, you could use www.ebuyer.com or www.aria.co.uk quite well. Scan is ok too. Try to avoid overclockers.co.uk.
Does ram stack? i have 2 512mb ddr 3200 cards(?) does this mean i have 1gb?
I have 2 512mb ddr 3200 cards, does this mean i have 1gb?
Yes. [editline]12th December 2010[/editline] Also I couldn't recommend ebuyer more. Not sure if they would still sell DDR though.
If it uses DDR, scrap it and rebuild. [editline]12th December 2010[/editline] DDR costs close to the same as DDR3 now. (2x2gb) = $45. (1x512mb) = $35.
