I saw some coolers with pins you can't remove but I don't think AMD does this kind of bullshit.
i just happen to have one lying around on my desk, and it was piss easy to remove it.
all it takes is a screwdriver, really.
Pop it apart with a screwdriver. Problem solved.

My CPU has an aftermarket cooler on it, I'm not even using the stock cooler.
