Them Crooked Vultures is a Megawatt supergroup of American hard rock collaboration composed of Joshua Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, Eagles of Death Metal) on guitars, Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Probot) on drums and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) on bass. NME reported in July 2009 that the trio were recording in Los Angeles. The collaboration was first publicly mooted by Grohl in a 2005 interview with Mojo, in which he declared “The next project that I’m trying to initiate involves me on drums, Josh Homme on guitar, and John Paul Jones playing bass. That’s the next album. That wouldn’t suck.” Of the nascent project, Homme’s wife Brody Dalle commented in July 2009 that “I’m not at liberty to talk about it… but I think is pretty fucking amazing. Just beats and sounds like you’ve never heard before.” TCV, played their first live show on Aug 9, 2009 at a Lollapalooza aftershow at the metro club in chicago. According to the Chicago Sun-Times’ Jim DeRogatis, the band played all original material during its 80-minute set; song titles include “Interlude w/Ludes”, “Caligulove”, and “Scumbag Blues”. The debut album of Them Crooked Vultures - Never Deserved the Future, will be released on November 17.
This is one of the best supergroups I've seen in a long time. Sounds like a modern heavier Zeppelin, and it sounds fucking amazing. I like em, like a cross between elbow and queens of the stone age.
Love this band and have tickets to see them. Just heard the first full song and know I will like. Great thread BTW, time and quality layout. More posts should be in here.
Everything that I've heard from these guys has been very promising. Hell, I've been excited since I first heard of them some months ago. JPJ, Homme, and Grohl together just screams of awesome.

He has clones.

Finally gave the whole thing a listen, these are my absolute favorites: Mind Eraser, No Chaser New Fang Dead End Friends Scumbag Blues Bandoliers Caligulove Gunman - absolute favorite Spinning In Daffodils
Fucking Loving Reptiles, Bandoliers, Scumbag Blues, Caligulove, and pretty much every song on the album!
Fucking amazing band, love em so much. I'm a huge QotSA fan, and I love Dave Grohl too. I haven't listened to heaps of Led Zepplin, but JPJ sounds great with these guys. Definetly the most promising band of the year. Scumbag Blues is amazing!
I love QOTSA and all, but everything Josh Homme touches sounds instantly like QOTSA stuff (see the new Arctic Monkeys allbum)
Downloaded it and listening now. Onto Scumbag Blues and I'm loving it so far.
OMFG I'm missing out!! I'ma check this out ASAP. I'm a huge fan of QOTSA :D Also... What is it with Josh Homme and the Zoolander looks? In that last pic, his look resembles the Ferrari look... or is it Blue Steel? lol
This is awesome. Dave Grohl drumming is awesome (again). Scumbag blues=awesome.
Holy fuck they pre-released all of their songs on youtube! http://www.youtube.com/user/themcrookedvultures
Awesome, Foo Fighters and QOTSA are two of my favourite bands.
