They won't install.
If they do install, it'll just fuck up your OS or it may just run and install fine.
Next time you boot up you'll probably be greeted with a blue screen.
Try it :iiam:
Quality thread.
You will die. Don't even try it, it's clearly fatal.
It will divide by zero.
why would you want to do that?
Old graphic cards (which only older drivers support) on new OS maybe.

New drivers support older cards.
Different driver models, won't work. It's like fitting a speedboat engine in a common car. Vista ones work fine on 7, though.
It would say something along the lines of "This driver does not support this OS, please contact your systems manager for more information."
They logically shouldn't install, they shouldn't even go past the post-extraction screen, if that.

It's the case for Nvidia cards, but newest ATI drivers doesn't support cards like ATI Radeon 9200 SE last time I checked.
It should work decently unless the driver does something fishy XP only

If you have old hardware as in 5-year old or something and there isn't windows vista/7 drivers for it, you can just keep the generic drivers that are installed with vista/7. If you mean 10+ year old, you shouldn't even be trying to run modern operating systems on it.

These should work for old cards, and the vista drivers should work with 7.
