Samsung has been doing a lot of this stuff lately; looks like they're trying to clean the clocks of any competition before it has a chance to even manifest.
We all just know Apple will release one and from there on be known as the inventor of smartwatches and Samsung will be seen as the copycat.
I personally think stuff like this is stupid.. just the fact it relies on the same battery tech as a mobile phone pretty much. It'd need to last like a month if I was to consider something like this over a standard watch.
Now make it work with any android phones, not just ones using touchwiZ
I rather just get a decent watch than spend 200$+ on a watch that needs battery charging and tells me things I already know.
shit, didn't they only just release their first one not too long ago? I'd hate to have bought one only to see this appear.

Hell, Samsung was demonstrating a prototype over 10 years ago so they're already extremely well established in the market.
Pebble is better anyway.

Smartwatches aren't designed to be super rugged explorer equipment. They are augmentations for your phone, you'll be able to charge the thing every few days. They don't exactly do much intensive shit so their battery life shouldn't be awful.
These actually don't look like shit for once
In ten years we'll look back on these with the same disdain we currently have for digital watches.
I just want to see the abortively bad commercial that is going to come out for this product. It's going to be hard to top the first gear commercial.
In ten years we'll look back on these with the same disdain we currently have for digital watches.
Who has disdain for digital watches? But more to the point I can't see the point in spending three hundred dollars on what is just a mirror of the phone in my pocket.
I toyed with the first Gear in a store. I like it, and would definitely own one for maybe $100-$150 at most. I recall hearing a rumor that the S5 and Note 3 will include the Gear 2 since they're the flagship phones. I hope that rumor holds up.

Honestly they'd do a better job than Samsung. Though I'm fairly sure they use the micro USB connectors that almost all Android phones use now. I think...
