• Looking for a Summer Job. Any advice on where to apply/what places suck?

Well since the end of school for me is next week, I've decided to get a job for the summer. I'm finishing my freshman year in High School and I'm hoping Facepunch can help me out with picking a place to apply. Nearby places include Target, Gamestop, Kohl's, Staple's, and a metric fuckton of fast food places. A lot of the fast food places here have terrible employees that I'd rather not work with, but that's just a preference. Also there's a nearby mall that has all your fancy mall shops like Auntie Anne's, Hollister (gross), Mrs. Fields, ect. Standard mall with overpriced clothes shops and an overpriced food court. I'm 15 and I have a good school reputation (no fights, good grades, ect.) but this will be my first job and I was hoping to get some advice on how to apply.
15? Geez, start small, try something like Target.

No, I never applied to a job at Target, but it seems to be a simple job enough. I'd start at a supermarket or something.
At 15 the only thing I think you could do is be a bagger at Kroger or Albertsons. Kohl's has a minimum age of 18. Most places want you to be at least 16.
It's hard to find a job at 15 unless you work at some greasy fast food place, even that's hard. I am 15 but I am just finishing my sophomore year, I am hoping to do lifeguard training this summer as you only have to be 15.

I think Best Buy hires 15/16 year olds if you are good with computers
15 years old? Unless a family member needs like, an assistant or something, you may as well just do landscaping for cash. As G-Mod said, most places want you to be 16 at least. I didn't get my first job until I was 18, and that I got through a friend's referral. Most places don't give a shit how well you do in school (until you get out of college I guess), if one of their workers (if they're a friend, family, w/e) knows you're a good person, they'll put you closer to the top of the list to be hired. It's more about connections then your resume these days it seems. Overall, wait until you're 16 and find a friend of family member whose work is hiring. Have them put in a good word for you, and you'll have a better chance on a job opportunity.
Just wait till your 16, since most-all places will void you application if your not. I'm 16 now, and i JUST got a job after a year of applying. Subway FTW!
