Its a V-8. Just a generic engine. I really fucked up on the Headers...
Learn to use a ruler, it will help alot. and maybe learn the basics of perspective and not just draw a 3 dimensional object?
Well, you tried. My suggestion when doing objects, is to first get a basic shape done first, then do the details. Also hold it up in a mirror or start drawing upside down at random times so your eyes don't get used to what you draw and miss mistakes. If it doesn't look the same when you hold it to a mirror, or look at it upside down, then it need work. And yeah, don't be afraid to use what tools you have available at your disposal.
Good job, for a first try its quite good. at first glance I couldn't find anything weird about it. Keep up the good work.
Yeah it looks good but a ruler would help next time :)
Also, draw bigger. [editline]12:46AM[/editline] And crop the unnecesary shit.
Looks meh. Pretty much anyone should be able to draw something like that
Hard pencil lines != good for sketching.
Should he use a ruler? I was doing perspective drawing yesterday and I was kind of hesitant about using a straight-line device at all. Is it frowned upon to use rulers in sketches or not?

If you draw an engine with random lines, it will look shit IMO.

I don't even know what to say to that.
This is truly a great drawing; it's minimalistic approach is a very strong and powerful statement about the horrors of the vietnam war and the chemical warfare agents used, such as agent orange which was used to deforest large parts of the vietnamese countryside (This is embodied in the drawing as the large space around the original drawing, an engine representing the american 'war machine', the lines in the empty space being where crops once were) and also how the agents had created deformities among the recent births there and also among the soldiers which fought there, effectively resulting in generations of horror and the constant reminder that war is evil.
I...like it.
Rulers are pussies.
And people who know what they're doing.
I can't stop reading the title as "My First Try At Perspective- An Engie"
And people who know what they're doing.
You don't need a ruler to make a good drawing.
You don't need a ruler to make a good drawing.
OP sure needs
OP sure needs
OP needs practice.
I don't know why everyone is complaining when I couldn't even draw anything close to that :[
