While Steam doesn't allow for refunds, prepurchased games can be cancelled whenever.
and quite honestly, full refunds are hardly a better incentive than steam.
Why do people keep saying "your move steam" in the most cocky way possible
Why do people keep saying "your move steam" in the most cocky way possible
People have been saying for a while that Steam has been kind of slacking when it comes to updates and improvements. The fact that Origin has been improving so rapidly just further illustrates that Steam is starting to stagnate.
I don't think it's being said to be dickish, but more "Okay Steam, you've had a comfortable lead but it's time to get back in gear."

Not really, you're just reading it like that.
Where was this feature when I purchased the new MoH
Good on you, EA. Not that I ever felt I really needed to return a game (especially not on Origin), but I appreciate the opportunity and hope Steam follows suit.
Also, I like the implications this has on any potential future launch fuck-ups. Imagine if this return policy was in place during the first week of Sim City?
Does Origin have sales as ludicrous as Steam?
No?
Your move, Origin...
I hope Origin does well from this, if they fail it would just show other companies that respecting the customer doesn't work. I'd probably never get any refunds though since I'm a huge hoarder. I'm totally going to play every game on my Steam account. Yep.

They did do a humble bundle though, so maybe that will change?
EA really are starting to improve. First the charitable Humble Bundle, now adding refunds to Origin. Hopefully this is the start of a better EA, since EA publish some great titles but ruin them with obnoxious DLC and DRM.
I've always found Origin to be better performance-wise than Steam. Much nicer, smoother interface IMHO.

You could argue that Origin had a lot to improve, so it's rapid improvements are hardly a surprise.
The better Origin gets, the better for us. I don't care about a program more on my PC, and it's not in my way when I do open it. The only thing Origin has to do better is prices, because over here in France BF4 is 60 Euros which is about 80 USD.
And the fact that there are practically no sales also doesn't make me purchase there anything. But at least now I know that if I would have bought Crysis 3 and am not able to launch it because of my Graphics Card not supporting Dx11 I can get a refund on a not used item.
This is great, and Steam should adopt something similar. But it is not as much a big deal as some make it out to be. Sure, it can be 'exploited' but who the hell plays through a game in 24 hours? It's an edge case, one which they seem to accept as it better for the userbase as a whole anyway.
But it is true, Steam is starting to slack somewhat on it's client. It still feels very clunky comparable to Origin. The title is just sensationalist though.

Given that some games have campaigns as short as 8 hours, quite a few.

Actually they have had some pretty decent sales recently so yeah kind of.
I've been refunded a few times with steam. It's very hard but save everything.

i thought you were only allowed one refund as a one time customer gesture or whatever
I only once got refunded on Steam when I had a game pre-ordered of which said pre-order went on sale the week before release.
I love Steam and all, but I really hope they pick up on this and implement 24 hour refunds as well.
EA is making this look like you'll be able to get refunds easily but you'll still have to go through their customer service.
Good luck.

Humble bundle, and there was a summer sale that was just as good as the steam sale. Your point?
I don't see why people are so opposed to Origin. I never had any big problems with it (at least none that weren't comparable to steam) and Origin getting better is only a good thing for both sides.
OK, seriously folks. This is starting to get a bit juvenile.
Does origin support indie developers and release indie games on its platform? no?
Also, everyone seems to be ignoring the MAJOR fact that origin only allows ONE GAME REFUND at the moment.
That isn't much better than steam's 0 game refund.
Origin still sells over priced games and it is extremely cornered on EA published games.
For that reason, it can and will never hold a candle to steams services.

Steam has a 1 Game refund also.

Most of the 25 Origin games I've have obtained for free or ridiculously cheap directly through Origin, or the recent Humble Bundle.
