Basically, Insomnia is a sleeping disorder. It is different for every person it happens to, and the results are extremely negative. Anxiety, tiredness, stress, inability to function at times, you want to sleep, but you can't sleep, and shit like that. Having all these symptoms make you feel like shit, and its an absolute bitch at times. But for whatever reason, those negative effects cause some amazing positive effects: with having the inability to sleep for a period of time, when you eventually fall asleep, you will feel amazingly satisfied. This is one of the most satisfying feelings you will ever have, you feel calm, and refreshed in a 3 hour nap while having insomnia than sleeping for 8 hours with a normal sleeping pattern. I don't know why, and I don't know how, but it is absolutely great. Now, this is some of the coolest shit ever: Whenever your awake, you feel like your in a dream. This is an amazing feeling. Your always calm and relaxed, its like your watching yourself. With every movement and motion you make, you feel fantastic. I don't know how to describe this feeling, its just an incredible feeling.
This is a brief description of how it feels while having insomnia:

Insomnia usually happens for a period of time, and is caused by another disorder like previous stress. You will feel like shit of course, that but that is, and I quote, a very small price to pay with all of the cool shit that happens to you.
I think I have this.
I had insomnia earlier this year, and just when i was going to the doctor (the week before the appointment), it just dissapeared
Had it recently, it's not good.
In before : "I have X or Y simptom, I can diagnose myself!"
EDIT: Dear god, it was faster then i thought. While I was writting this, 3 idiots decided that because they have trouble falling asleep, they instantly have insomminia.
Sleeping pills they are cheap and work

If you’re not on drugs, your doctor can get you some.
If it sucks than that is an opinion...
If it is great than that is an opinion..
They are both opposites yet you claim they are both your opinion?
Paradox
Take a lot of ambien and force yourself to stay awake
No, the brief periods of time where you do feel great are not worth the many days of feeling like complete and utter shit.
Yeah, I had a case of it a few weeks ago... I had to get up at 7am for College and I went to bed at 12:30pm.
My eyes had that stinging feeling that you get when you need sleep. I kept rolling about in bed and my mind was very active thinking about stupid senseless stuff that I can't explain. Hours went by really quickly and I kept looking at the clock... 2am... 3am... 4am... knowning that I only had about 3 hours to sleep now and that I would be knackered the next day. Noticing this didn't help either it just made me panic more and find it even harder to sleep.
I did manage to get to sleep at around 4-5am and woke up at 7 but around 9am that morning just beginning College for the day I was out of it. I couldn't concentrate especially when reading something, I felt really light and was sweating alot. Got home at 12pm and slept till 7pm!
In UK you can buy 'Kalms' pills for sleeping, stress etc.

I have all of the symptoms and this thread was made through personal experience, I was diagnosed by my doctor also.
I have had no problems with this since I started to do some sports.

ruined my life
Personally I find meditating helps me with my insomnia. Its relaxing, lowers your heart rate, clears your mind, and a whole other host of great benefits.
Eh, I had some issues falling asleep, doesn't mean I have insomnia though, you silly people.
I have days where it takes me 3-4 hours to fall asleep. Shit fucking sucks. I can't turn off my brain at night, I'm constantly playing out weird scenarios in my head about different shit :(

Yes, just means you have a problem sleeping.
While people with insomnia feel like shit, and they can't sleep.
I had this for a bit over the summer. Indeed, when it was finally time to sleep I almost jizzed over my chest.

You mean "Priceless"
I have an OCD that causes insomnia.
Pretty cool.
I used to have sleepping problems... Never made a big fuss about it but it felt alot like as if you were watching a movie about yourself.
It felt alot as if you were on drugs, except without the good feeling.
ITT: overreacting
Between the ages of like 10-12 i had very mild insomnia, i'd fall to sleep at like 6 in the morning and have to wake up like an hour later for school.
ITT: over reacting
overreacting is one word
<Insert Fight Club joke here>
I've never heard anyone call Insomnia a good thing though.
overreacting is one word
Whoopsie, my bad.
Maybe they're over a reacting?
I can just lay there and poof! I'm out.
The only time I get insomnia is when it's from drugs.
