• Installing new SSD

The run down: - Previously had two 250GB hard drives in RAID0. (Boot disk) - Had one 1TB HDD separate from the RAID0. - BIOS Storage Configuration (ASUS P5Q Pro Turbo) was set to RAID. - One hard drive died, both 250GB hard drives removed. - Installed new SSD, shows up in BIOS. My question: If I switch to AHCI from RAID, will I lose my data on the 1TB HDD even if it wasn't part of the RAID?
RAID mode is AHCI by nature. Intel even suggests you run their SATA controllers in RAID mode even if you're not using it, to minimize compatibility issues if you decide to upgrade and add a RAID config later. You can just leave things the way they are.
Whoops. Changed it to AHCI because my curiosity got the better of me. Either way installation seems to be going OK (my god installing from USB is amazing). [editline]17th July 2012[/editline] Ayup, everything is working fine.
