CNN has released their annual list of the top 100 best companies to work for in the US.

Some interesting things about the list is that Google are now #1, with a massive 33% gain in job growth. Adobe, Intel, Autodesk, Microsoft, and Cisco are also in the top 100, and a lot of these employees make $100k+ a year. These companies also provide very good healthcare.
Apple didn't make the list at all. Yeah really, a company that completely changed the world of technology [/sarcasm]

Apple didn't make the list because working for them is an Orwellian nightmare.

Also, in the OP article, why is Goldman Sachs the only company that doesn't show employee count and job growth?

I can't help but wonder how different this list would look in the UK. :v:
Why isn't Valve on that list
I'm always amazed and horrified when Americans talk about job healthcare plans.

this is ,sadly, a major factor in deciding which job you should get.
Why isn't Valve on that list
I think getting data would be more difficult, since I don't think many of these companies are private. Valve is private, and so doesn't have all their data floating on the market.
what are the criteria? this information is 100% useless without the criteria.

They have the world's best snack bar, you'd think that would be enough.

It's always empty when Gabe comes in to work, and I don't think 'copious amounts of salad' wins many favors.
Why isn't Valve on that list
because valve employs slave labour in order to complete the required daily quota of hats for TF2.

He's lost a lot of weight, and Robin (Or Chek, I can't remember which) is the one eating the 7000 calorie cookies
NuStar Energy
Rank: 15 (Previous rank: 30)
What makes it so great?
The company has never had a layoff, pays 100% of its workers' health insurance premium, and matches 401(k) contributions up to 6% of pay. It also lends the corporate jet to employees in times of crisis.
I'm not sure what to think. Either this is massively hyped up or the company is goddamn generous.

I'm up for the challenge.
[fanboy]I'm sure if it was top 1000, Valve would be 101 or something.[/fanboy]
I was suprised to see Build-A-Bear Workshop actually made it onto this list.

Well it's not like the employees do much, it's fueled primarily on child labor.
The perfect business.
Valve is probably not on there because it isn't in the stock market or however you say it.
Woo my dad's company is on there!
Woo my dad's company is on there!

Might I ask which one?
Wegmans is THE SHIT.
100 top companies tow work with and the 100 hardest company to get a job in.
i wished zappos hired me when i did that 2 hour job center... filled out most of the paper work, some of the info is something that I don't understand and took the piss test all at one, they suppose to call me but they never call me back... i even leave a message and they never answer me back.
I have shitty luck getting a job, i'm like 4 years unemployed after i graduated from high school.
