So I was on my laptop last night, just browsing facepunch, when windows security center said I had an infection. I just thought "Oh I'll just let it scan" but it turned out I couldn't run any executable, with the "zombied" security center telling me that whatever program I was trying to run was infected and it close almost immediately. Since it cut out my internet connection, anti-virus tools were out of the option (It was too late for me to get up and go downstairs on my computer). I eventually located the whereabouts of the virus and renamed it, so that solved all the zombieness of my software. Now the only problem is chrome and internet explorer can't connect to any websites. Coincidentally, those two browsers happened to be the only ones running. I'm using firefox right now, perfectly fine. I can ping different websites too from cmd. tl;dr Got rid of a virus but it messed up the internet for chrome and internet explorer. Windows solution (First time I've ever used it) said something about a proxy. anywho anyone know what I can do?
I had the same problem about 3 days ago. I am too looking for an answer to this problem.
