• GoPro alternative? Need 1080p @ at least 60 fps.

Hey, going skiing soon and I want to get camera that can withstand shock and water. GoPro has many features I don't need so overpaying for those seems silly. Any good alternatives? Need at least 60fps and 1080p. And very sharp and good quality. + be stick and helmet mountable.
I work in a media production team and we recently replaced several of our GoPro's under insurance with Sony Action Cameras. They have much better use in low light, color grading of footage, and mountability, not to mention the arm remote is way better than anything else usable with GoPros. I would highly recommend anything from the Sony Action Cam range. I think the 1080p ones are quite cheap too now since they brung out a 4K one. I'm not sure if they can take 60fps 1080p, but the 4K ones (which I have used) handle it no problem, and can even go upto 120fps 1080p. As for use in water or wet environments, the waterproof cases are really nice to use, compact while still being mountable.
You've got Contour and Garmin to choose from too.
Xiaomi Yi / Mobius are the standard "cheap" cams of the multicopter world nothing says shock testing like piledriving a quadcopter at 60mph into the dirt, and at $60-80 for the Yi, they're pretty good on value.

Wow, I am quite impressed, did they dump all money of the camera into sensor or something and then cut back on LCD screens and all that stuff?

It's far from the best in features, durability or video quality - but for $60-80 (+ $13 for a waterproof case), they might as well be disposable compared to GoPros, which is probably good enough for a ski trip. Just make sure you get a case for the Yi and not a GoPro case because they have different dimensions.
