• Police stop religious procession in Indian Kashmir

[release] SRINAGAR, India — Police have fired tear gas and used batons to disperse hundreds of Muslims participating in religious processions in the Indian portion of Kashmir. Police say at least six people have been injured during clashes Wednesday with marchers, some of whom attacked government forces with stones. Police imposed a curfew in parts of the main city Srinagar and tried to stop the marchers observing the Muslim month of Muharram fearing that anti-India separatists may take control of the gatherings. Muharram is one of the most important holy days for Shiite Muslims. Anti-India sentiment runs deep in Kashmir, which is divided between Hindu-majority India and predominantly Muslim Pakistan, but claimed by both in its entirety. This is horrible unless those religious people were something like the WBC
reminds me of the north, one group marches into another's territory under the premise of religious and traditional purposes but it's a smokescreen to incite both sides into violence, it pisses me off to no end.
