I'm relatively new to Lunix. I installed Lunix Mint on an external 125GB SSD and everything works more or less perfectly fine except for the audio. I read somewhere that I need some drivers or some garbage like that. Can anybody point me in the right direction here?
Can you tell us about your hardware and post the output of:
lspci
EDIT: Actually, try this first and when/if it gives you a list select your sound card:
sudo alsaconf
Maybe you don't have alsa installed. That's really weird if you don't.
Soundblaster X-Fi.
Crap linux support. Crap windows support.
Its creative - what else can we expect.
They were nice enough to provide some basic X-Fi drivers a year after the x-fi launch though: http://opensource.creative.com/soundcard.html
Their headsets are good haha.
What do I do then.
He just gave you a link to the X-Fi drivers.

Man i'm dumb...
About the X-fi drivers, Alsa 1.0.21 just came out the other day, and has X-fi support.
I can't try it as I don't have that hardware.
