• Israel Creates 'No Man's Land' in Gaza, Shrinking Strip by 40%
This narrow strip of land that used to be called “the Gaza Strip,” already one of the more densely populated places on earth, is growing dramatically smaller. The Israeli military, relentlessly and methodically, is driving people out of the three-kilometer (1.8 mile) buffer zone it says it needs to protect against Hamas rockets and tunnels. According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the buffer zone eats up about 44 percent of Gaza’s territory. What that means on the ground is scenes of extraordinary devastation in places like the Al Shajaya district approaching Gaza’s eastern frontier, and Beit Hanoun in the north. These were crowded neighborhoods less than three weeks ago. Now they have been literally depopulated, the residents joining more than 160,000 internally displaced people in refuges and makeshift shelters.
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/07/28/as-israel-enforces-its-buffer-zone-gaza-shrinks-by-40-per-cent.html In related news, Eran Efrati, a former Israeli combat soldier and member of "breaking the silence" reports that Israeli soldiers are committing war-crimes against civilians in no mans land. https://www.facebook.com/eran.efrati.9/posts/10204269146351996
Soldiers in two different units inside Gaza leaked information about the murdering of Palestinians by sniper fire in Shuja'iyya neighborhood as punishment for the death of soldiers in their units. After the shooting on the Israeli armored personnel carriers, which killed seven soldiers of the Golani Brigade, the Israeli army carried out a massacre in Shuja'iyya neighborhood. A day after the massacre, many Palestinians came to search for their relatives and their families in the rubble. In one of the videos uploaded to YouTube, a young Palestinian man Salem Shammaly calls the names of his family and looking for them between the ruins when he is suddenly shot at in his chest and falls down. A few seconds after that, there are two additional shootings from snipers into his body, killing him instantly.
As I have said several times before, this war only ends with the destruction of one or the other. Israel is trying to accomplish this.
As I have said several times before, this war only ends with the destruction of one or the other. Israel is trying to accomplish this.
By saying stuff like this, you make it sound like Israel should never have pulled out of the Gaza strip.
By saying stuff like this, you make it sound like Israel should never have pulled out of the Gaza strip.
I would love to see IDF out of the Gaza Strip, but for the moment, it seems like the leaders are perfectly content with forceful annexation of that No Man's Land.
Is it possible that we might actually be looking at the complete and total annexation of Gaza.
Is it possible that we might actually be looking at the complete and total annexation of Gaza.
Not without a mass ethnic cleansing, the last thing Israel wants is hundreds of thousands of Arabs as citizens. They're a threat to the state's racial purity, or "demographics" if you want to be PC.
Not without a mass ethnic cleansing, the last thing Israel wants is hundreds of thousands of Arabs as citizens. They're a threat to the state's racial purity, or "demographics" if you want to be PC.
20% of israel's citizens are arab or muslim (I forget which one)
20% of israel's citizens are arab or muslim (I forget which one)
Yes, I know. That's why they don't want anymore of them, they're viewed as a "threat". See: Demographic Timebomb
So, Israel just grabbed 40% of Gaza indefinitely? When does the bulldozing and settlement building start?
So, Israel just grabbed 40% of Gaza indefinitely? When does the bulldozing and settlement building start?
After the cleansing of the Gaza Strip.
Fuck me, reading a few things being sent to the Israeli government, and supposedly this land takeover will effectively kill the Gaza economy, fuck over sanitation systems, and water supplies will either have to be rationed or everyone is pretty much screwed.
If Israel wants a buffer why don't they establish one on their side of the border using land that's actually theirs?
They're just going to keep doing this as long as they keep getting away with it.
If Israel wants a buffer why don't they establish one on their side of the border using land that's actually theirs?
Because Israel has the guns.
Fuck me, reading a few things being sent to the Israeli government, and supposedly this land takeover will effectively kill the Gaza economy, fuck over sanitation systems, and water supplies will either have to be rationed or everyone is pretty much screwed.
What economy? What sanitation? Water supplies? the ones Israel supplies? Gaza strip is now officially a war-zone. [editline]29th July 2014[/editline]
Because Israel has the guns.
How can you create a buffer on your own land, that's so stupid.
How can you create a buffer on your own land, that's so stupid.
Well I mean, theoretically if you didn't want anything to be built somewhere, then you use your own land to create a buffer. You wouldn't invade your neighbors and say "don't build in your former terrority that I am now kicking you out of"
If Israel wants a buffer why don't they establish one on their side of the border using land that's actually theirs?
"Indefensible"
It's not a buffer. I don't know who or what they quoted. It's to clean up Hamas, blow tunnels etc.
They cant just take their Land cant they ? I thought these days were over 200 years ago
It's not a buffer. I don't know who or what they quoted. It's to clean up Hamas, blow tunnels etc.
I guess you are the guy in charge overthere.
By saying stuff like this, you make it sound like Israel should never have pulled out of the Gaza strip.
Well it will only end with one or the other gone. Israel is a democracy where people irrespective of their religion can vote while Gaza is controlled by Hamas a terrorist organisation who have stated repeatedly they wish to exterminate all Jews. I know which one I would prefer to survive.
why havent they been sanctioned yet

[editline]28th July 2014[/editline]
why havent they been sanctioned yet
US ally.
why havent they been sanctioned yet
because us always votes for israel in everything and all of the european countries abstain from voting
They cant just take their Land cant they ? The fishing limit was changed from 3 miles to 6 miles in 2012, for the record.
hamas wants to keep firing rockets, the population of gaza put hamas into power. They can now deal with a 3km nomansland in their territory to stop the rockets from reaching Israel.
They cant just take their Land cant they ? I thought these days were over 200 years ago
Israel has always believed it was their land, now they're just reclaiming it. I'm surprised it took this long for shit to hit the fan tbh.
Maybe Israel should stop pushing Gaza's civilians to extremism via illegal blockades and the shelling of innocent civilians. [editline]28th July 2014[/editline] US ally.
Listen, just stop with that moronic argument because it has nothing to do with reality; Blockades have nothing to do directly with Hamas' decisions nor do they with the entire Palestinian population inside the Gaza Strip. We will not risk Israeli soldiers when we can use air-strikes it's simple, just as I said before, would you risk your own lives to save the lives of the people you're fighting at? Either way, people need to understand Hamas is a guerrilla terror group, it's unavoidable.
Israel has always believed it was their land, now they're just reclaiming it. I'm surprised it took this long for shit to hit the fan tbh.
they were looking for an excuse, if they just went out of their way and did it they would be viewed as cunts not like they're not viewed as cunts now I can't support either side, theirs so much shit flying around and it's hard trying to get a grip of what's happening
